  1. I do expect a 1NT overcall to show a stop in the opponent's suit. However since this is a potentially a short club, you don't yet know what suit that is, so I wouldn't have a major problem with partner bidding it without a club stop. However I would go with others and overcall 1S with this hand.
  2. Hi Guilhot I'm not sure what you are referring to as GIB, but if you say what you want to do I'm sure that you will get some help. A director of a running session can adjust any score using the standard BBO TD facilities.
  3. The other option is an initial 5C underbid, which LHO is likely to overcall with 5S. When you later bid 6C, the opponents may think you are overstretching, and might pass or double rather than bid on to 6S. There is a small chance you will be left in 5C (but still a much better score than 6S down a couple). An initial bid of 6C is almost encouraging the opponents to bid on to 6S.
  4. I also don't think that the bidding is unfair, thought there are probably better ways to approach it. I (and many but not all players) treat the 4th suit forcing bid (3C) as game forcing. So after partner's 3H response, you can just bid 3S to set the suit. Alternatively an initial splinter bid response of 4C (agreeing spades with a shortage in clubs) in response to the 1S is likely to get you to a slam. And lastly, many players use a Jacoby 2NT response to 1 major as a game going hand with 4+ card support (if you are playing 4 card majors), which both puts you in a game forcing situation, and agrees spades as trumps. Not everyone might agree with this approach on this hand (as it's slightly light in high cards), so on this hand I would lean towards the splinter bid.
  5. Hi. This is the first I have heard of this option. Can you point me at any write up of this facility, please? Thanks.
  6. In my experience, BBO also adjusts the last round as usual, but not before the results have been uploaded to the results server. Like the previous poster, we also add extra time to the last round to prevent this from happening, but BBO also re-uploads the (possibly amended) results again approximately 20 minutes after the completion of the tournament, replacing the previous scores. Rather than waiting for this, we find it much easier for all tables to finish under their own steam, then the initial results are fine.
  7. It's now 1.3 hours since my tournament finished this afternoon, and the results aren't available for download yet on the BBO results server. Is this process running slowly again? Thanks Peter
  8. My extract has just worked (still with a number of retries).
  9. Yes, I'm having the same problem. To me it would appear to be a slow server issue with BBO, as I can view each of the travellers individually (eventually!).
  10. In my experience, this happens when using BBO on Safari on my iPad, and navigating away from the BBO screen. However I don't have this issue when using Chrome on Windows 10. So it could be OS / browser specific.
  11. If it's not the separate server issue as mentioned in the link above, the other option is that you have the 'Invisible' box ticked on the login screen, which it then also remembers for future logins.
  12. I am not aware of a facility to do this automatically. A director has to substitute (players or) robots into the sitouts once the tournament starts. I believe that the robots are only available as substitutes for paid tournaments.
  13. As long as you can get to the 'show tables' director command, then the 'Join' column on the right of the players names has a number in brackets showing how many kibitzers are at each table. You then need to visit the table to see who they are (as discussed earlier).
  14. Can you make it generally available please - maybe in news or announcements? I had the pop up when I logged in to our virtual club account, but I didn't realise that I needed to take a copy of it to share it with the other directors at our club. Thanks Peter
  15. I am assuming you are clicking the modify tournament before going from the edit tournament screen. In this case, what you are seeing is the 'bug' / lack of refresh where the start time showing in the director tab isn't updated. However the start time has changed (and if the tournament is about to start you can see this by looking at the tournament information in the upcoming tournaments section). The only way that I have found to get this to update on your screen is to log out and log back in again.
