  1. See case 30 from New Orleans, 2003. Bottom line is that one should alert.
  2. I have a leftover blue rectangle on my computer from a failed login. It will not go away. I have tried rebooting. I have tried CTRL-ALT-DEL. There are no programs running to make this blue thing appear. It won't go away. Any suggestions? Problem fixed on second reboot
  3. Perhaps a better question: Where does the term come from? Why is not a Hot contract? Danny
  4. I was on lead against 4 of a major with AKTx. Dummy and partner had xxx and declarer had QJx. I cashed ace, and declarer played queen. I cashed King, and declarer was right there with the Jack. My ten won the 3d round of the suit, and the 13er enabled partner to uppercut declarer. Down 1.
  5. A limited BAM only needs to be 2 days. Make it the last weekend, and those who are unlucky in the Swiss or Reisinger can play in it. Danny
  6. The contract is displayed in a different area than the auction. One could still ask about a particular bid, and its meaning. You just have to remember the bids in real life. Danny
  7. Can I put stupidest falsecard in? I was on lead against 4 of a major with AKTx. Dummy and partner had xxx and declarer had QJx. I cashed ace, and declarer played queen. I cashed King, and declarer was right there with the Jack. My ten won the 3d round of the suit, and the 13er enabled partner to uppercut declarer. Down 1.
  8. I agree that the spade length inference is of little value on this hand. However, you definitely don't want another spade played, and your RHO is close to 100% to continue spades, your LHO is not
  9. One way BBO differs from real life is that you can review the auction any time you want to during the hand. After the first trick, in real life, this is no longer possible. What is the general consensus: Should the auction stay visible for the players after trick one? Danny
  10. As I understood it, and according to Wolff's book, the Ace of Spades was face up as the top card. No chance for someone to hide that...

    Good bid!

Question to the simulators: How often does 6♦ go for some massive number?
  12. The diagram needs to be ammended to give North 4-5 in the minors. Way to go, team Diamond!
  13. We tie two more things into the 2♠ ask: Over 3♣ we can show all 4441's below 3nt 3♦ Red suit singleton 3 ♥ Short spades 3♠ Short clubs Also, Responder can now play 4 of a major from his side, if desired. Danny
  14. I am surprised that a computer isn't better at GO than bridge. GO is a game of perfect information, which must be easier to solve than games without PI
