I've qualified for day 4 :) 57% on day 1, 58% on day 2, and 55% on day 3. Not stellar, but quite satisfying given that I'm not super confident with MP scoring.

I cannot play Challenges at the moment; I have started two 'against strangers' but when I 'sit', the table is automatically closed, with an error message displayed stating "System Error: Could not verify token: ERROR: Could not verify token: Token is null" On at least one attempt, the table was not closed, but nor were there any cards dealt, I just sat there with nothing happening. Edited to add: The 'nothing happening' version has just happened again. This time, the home and back buttons do nothing. The only way I can escape is 'log out'. edit 2: was able to play some hands but then got kicked out, error message flashed up stating something to do with SQL and excessive users.

1♦ 1♥ 1♠ 2♣! 2NT 3♠ 5♦! (5♠/whatever shows 2 non-♦A keycards for ♠s) 7♥/7♠ -

Find your way after support double
hevnandhel replied to scarletv's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I'd assume new suit = forcing without discussion to the contrary, and if I was going to sign off in a partscore on this auction then 2♠ would be my choice - or maybe 3♣ in a case where I have support like this. -
Find your way after support double

I think 3♦ would also be forcing. -
Yes, it said it was a takeout double, but I don't think that is logical.

For what it's worth, nicebbo, I have observed your 'partner' making a significant number of actions that I considered to be poor (at best) in other instances, and as noted by others in this thread, their actions on this hand are not good from either a bridge or manners perspective.

http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-38674545-1434390058 6♥ is explained as 5+♦s 4+♥s 18+HCP 18-TP. How can you have 18+HCP, 5+4+ shape, and yet no more than 18TP?

I'd bid 2♦ (good 3-card raise), no matter what the Double is.

Agree with grzes987. I'm a new BBO player, never quit a tournament...because I've never been able to play in one. Almost all free tournaments seem to have the TCR restriction applied. And I don't really want to play with robots in tourneys, especially if it is just to get an acceptable TCR. It would be better to base the TCR on tournaments started but not finished rather than...whatever it currently based on.

I may have to correct myself; the SAYC pamphlet does include a section on competitive bidding which states: "Bids mean the same things they meant without the intervening bid". So 1♠-(X)-3♠ would still be a limit raise. But that's not how many people would play it.
-
SAYC, as far as I can tell, does not define what these raises after a double indicate. However, many people play these raises as weak or preemptive. Stronger hands can redouble and/or use a convention such as Jordan/Truscott 2NT (or variants such as Flip Flop).

Questions about 'removing' players and auto-removal.
hevnandhel replied to hevnandhel's topic in BBO Support Forum
For anyone else who is curious, the answer seems to be 100 logins. I can now 'remove'. But...5 days after posting this query there is no reply from BBO? I realise that I could have asked a 'Host', but having looked through all the BBO help documents I could find (and these forums, and a web search) I though it would be useful to ask the question here for prosperity. It's unfortunate that what will be recorded is frustration and disappointment. -
Double.

Whenever I try to 'remove' a player from a table I am hosting, it results in an error being displayed: "Permission denied". Why? Is it related to being a new BBO user? What are the requirements for this function? I generally only attempt to do this when a player appears to be 'stuck'. I know the software is supposed to do this automatically, but it will sometimes fail to do so. I am left having to abandon the table myself, which I dislike doing in part because it would affect my board completion rate. TIA, Memus.
