  1. Never thought about this... However, this doesn't sound like a problem that cannot be solved. For example 8 teams qualify for KO, the four that qualify to semifinal got place in BB, from the remaining four teams, the two that had highest place after RR qualify to BB. M.
  2. Maybe it was already discussed sometime somewhere, but... What is the reason not to have KO in European Championships? Round Robin should be treated as the most "fair" method of seeding teams for KO stage. If Champion is selected based on RR results there is always "noise" in the results (e.g. worse performing teams not fighting for their result in the end). Also there is a lot of luck factor - for example if Croatia qualified instead of Latvia to the final stage, Italy wouldn't win... M.
  3. That's exteremely interesting! How exactly do you do that? I mean how to configure the equipment to be able to watch vugraph on my iPhone ;-)
  4. Looking at world-class pairs it seems that only a few of them use Turbo (e.g. Fantunes). However even the players that have RKC in their toolbox, bid most slams just by using cue-bids. In this case I wonder why they don't use Turbo as it gives additional info "for free" ;-) Any views? M.
  5. I suggest asking the Poles. It seems like all the players at the table are Poles ;-)
  6. Looking at the results of some of the teams it seems that they had 1-2 disasterous days in a row (Sweden - first 2 days; Norway - 4-5th day; Poland - 5-6th day) and then came back to their "normal" performance. As far as I know Poland, for example, arrived in Shanghai a day before BB, so the huge drop in their performance might be explained (at least partially) by the jetlag. Just wonder if some of you know how other teams planned their stay in Shanghai and how many days before they arrived. M.
  7. If you win 10 (or 13 in a row) when BB is each year it means that you were the best in 10 consecutive years. Now, when BB is organized once in a two year, 5 consecutive wins menas that you are the best in 10 consecutive years. In this sense winning 5 "match" winning 10 ;-) M.
  8. Well, now Bermuda Bowl is only once in a two year period, while in 60s it was each year. It means that now you need ca. 6-7 Bermuda Bowl wins in a row to prove that you are as good as the champions of the past. M.
  9. Hi, I want to put my system (with examples) into document and wonder if there is any software to help me with presenting deals and biding in e.g. Word or Excel? M.
  10. You can check CC of Jassem-Martens for Bermuda Bowl. When NV they play 1♣ as strong (15-17 NT, 15+ clubs, 16+ any GF) and 1M 9..15, when Vul they play standard Polish Club
  11. FYI. There is also a work started by Izdebski (editor of "Swiat Brydza" - Polish Bridge World) on developing WJ Baza (Base). Izdebski was taking part in a development of Nasz System/ Strefa - variation of Polish Club with more natural openings 11-21 PC - a system becoming more and more popular in Poland (eg. Kwiecien-Pszczola played it). I think Izdebski wants to propose WJ which will have many sequences similar to Strefa, the "only" difference will be: openings - 11-17 in WJ, 11-21 in Strefa and structure after strong club in WJ ;-)) In general - you will be able to see more WJ variations in people's profiles in BBO: WJ 2000, WJ 2005, WJ Baza ;-))) Marcin
