Playing 2/1, 1) Does S’s bid show the 6-4 shape? 2. Is S strong enough to make this bid? Should he pass 3D? 3. Is it better (especially playing pairs) for S to rebid his spades instead of 2D? Thanks. [hv=pc=n&s=skj9532ha4dqj93ck&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=ppp1sp1np2dp3dp3s]133|200[/hv]

I've corrected it to south. thanks jillybean. -
hi, in a MPs tourney many pairs opened with a gf bid, playing 5 card majors are you happy to bid 1c* (could be short) and having done so, what do you do next? thanks [hv=pc=n&s=shak42dk5cakq9764&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=p1c1hdp3np4np]133|200[/hv]

missing grand slam

If 4N is for minors, what would you do with a balanced 16 point hand with stoppers in hearts? -
After partner opens 1N (15-17), you know you have a slam but when RHO intervenes with 4H, what should you bid? What would 4N, 5N or 5H mean? [hv=pc=n&w=skq6hdakj95cak876&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1n4h]133|200[/hv]

Your RHO opens 1N and you have 16+ balanced, should you double for penalties? It rarely works out. It seems cowardly to pass, however. Does p with his lowly assortment of points, have a role to play? Is it better to use X after a 1n opener to show a type of hand (say the Kit Wolsey convention)? And should you keep the double to play against the weak nt? Thanks 😊 This was my latest disaster. Also, just looking at my hand, what would you have led?[hv=pc=n&s=sak75ht6da52caj97&w=s864hq972dqj84cq8&n=sjt9h8543d93ct652&e=sq32hakjdkt76ck43&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1ndppp]399|300[/hv]

My LHO opened 3S and I doubled out of rotation (It was my partner's bid). Opener did not accept my Double. Looking at law 32A, my bid is cancelled and my partner HAS to pass. At our table my RHO (knowing that I wanted to double) bid 4S. Am I free to bid as I please (whether it be pass, double or another suit) and does my partner get to bid when it is his turn on the next round ( or can he only pass)? Thanks

And are the boards scored as played, even though played in the wrong orientation?
-
What happens when a set of 3 boards are played in the wrong orientation, using a Howell movement. Also,if there is a penalty, who receives it, the stationary pair who have failed to realise they should move to E/W, or both pairs? Many thanks

Playing UDCA, is it better to be consistent and play a low card to encourage when using a Smith signal in a no trumps contract. I notice that many people use a high one instead. What do most top players do, and why? Many thanks

Faute de mieux, could you not open 2♣, planning to rebid 4♥? -

You're correct. N has 10 hearts. The 3 is not showing on the diagram. -

what lengths could I expect in hearts and clubs respectively? 5-5? 5-4? could it be 4-5 4-6, bidding the major first ahead of a minor?

it's not easy to find material on the follow ups to the 2C (GF) opening. here 2D is relay and 3D show a 5+ card suit. 7D was the optimum contract. how would you bid it?[hv=pc=n&w=skq82hkt52dj765c5&e=sha4dakq9843cak84&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=2cp2dp3dp]266|200[/hv]

Thanks all. In fact W held a singleton K ♦ and so the contract could have been made. (It wasn't!)[hv=pc=n&s=sakqhkdq62ckqj987&w=sjt94hjt75dkct432&n=s52hq963da754ca65&e=s8763ha842djt983c]399|300[/hv]
