  1. Considering this once more. Isn’t there a risk that i miss a better H fit if I open 1S? If partner is eg 3442 and I open 1S, I would prefer to play in H, but we may miss the better fit. Even more so when my suit quality is so good in H. Am I missing something or is this an unavoidable problem?

  3. I am really sorry, I made a mistake when describing the bidding. My final bid was 4H, not 4S. I apologize for my mistake. I realise that I should have opened 1S instead, that would probably have salved the problem.
  4. I just played the weekend 2 day tournament and missed a slam which i feel i should not have missed. I held S: K5432 H: AKQJ3 D:J6 C:7 The bidding went 1H-(2C)-3C-(P)-4S-all pass. Partner held S:AQJ6 H:1098 D:AK73 C:106 12 easy tricks and below average. Where did I go wrong? Thank you in advance? /Juljak
  5. Thanks for your help and advise. I had a 9hp 3-2-3-5 hand and passed the 2NT bid. Partner made 2NT+1, but had only 14 hp and a balanced hand. We both seem to have misjudged the situation, but my mistake was worse, I think. Thanks again Juljak
  6. MP pairs all non-vul. I would appreciate to get comments on what the 2C and 2NT bids mean in the following sequence without prior agreements playing a standard 5 card major, strong NT system? (P)-1C-(1D)-2C-(P)-2NT... Thanks in advance! Juljak

  8. Thank you for the help. I should have remembered NMF, but forgot. Would you in this situation regard NMF as forcing for one round or forcing to game? Regards juljak
  9. I have tried to learn on my own for a while and play both with Gibs and live on BBO. I faced this situation playing with the Gibs and really didn't know how to handle it. I know some will say the Gibs are bad, but i believe I might have reached the same situation playing with humans. I held A10542, AJ5, J542, A with my partner dealing. The bidding went 1D-pass-1S-pass-1NT-pass-? What is my correct bid now? I know we need to reach game based on strength. I know p has got a balanced hand. I was contemplating 3N and 4S as a bid in D or S wouldn't be forcing and i held too few of the others to bid them. I was worried about C if I bid NT and about finding myself in a 7-card fit if i bid S. Sorry if this is a question at a level being too basic, but I couldn't find a good solution at the table. Best regards and hoping for some feedback the first time I post here. juljak
