  1. Any chance you've just started to use a touchpad? Or if you are using a touchpad does the same thing happen when you use a mouse?
  2. You didn't say if you'd written to support@ and I don't recall this problem showing up there. However, I've asked the Support staff to look into this, see if they can replicate it, and find out what your problem is. Just off the top of my head, have you tried playing with a different browser? Firefox for instance? We'll keep you posted.
  3. This might help: http://www.bridgebase.com/help/v2help/completion_rates.html Jacki :)
  4. Have you looked in your spam folder? This was sent to you several hours ago. However, I have resent it as an email, not an answer to a ticket, to the email address you provided to us in your original complaint. Jacki :)
  5. You have sent the complaint to acbl@bridgebase.com, a ticket has been opened and you will get a reply to the ticket within a few minutes. We do appreciate you letting us know about any situations that seem unreasonable to you during our ACBL games on BBO. Jacki :)
  6. I'm sure this topic has been discussed before, but I'm not a regular at the Water Cooler. As an Olympics junkie, I found myself watching USA vs Canada in a Soccer match today. That's what we call it, Soccer, the rest of the world calls it football. Football to those of us in the USA means a pigskin and a lot of muscular guys trying their best to badly hurt another person. But it got me thinking...and back to the topic. On any given weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at the local parks you will see tons of 'soccer' games going on with ages starting about 5 years up to the teenagers. Lots of parents and fans, lots of refreshments and noise all around as everyone cheers on their favorites. But that's it as far as soccer is concerned in the USA. Once the kids get out of high school, soccer is a distant memory except for some community games it seems...it has never caught on as a popular sport as, say, football, baseball and even softball. But in the rest of the world it's a passion. It's a rare family that doesn't have a kid or two involved in soccer. What happens that we here in the USA don't have the interest in soccer (ok football) as a professional sport? Jacki :)
  7. Email jacki@bridgebase.com, give me your BBO name and I'll see that you're added to the list of Commentators.
  8. You'll find the volunteer commentators in the last column of each broadcast. Jacki :)
  9. Scarlet you can expect an email from me in a few minutes. If it doesn't land within 10 minutes or so, let me know here and we'll figure out what's wrong.
  10. Click the "Web" option, type www.bridgebase.com, click Play Bridge Now, then log on as usual. See the post below for the password problem you'll run into. Jacki :)
  11. 12Calzetta is quite right. When you enter your password, you will not see the normal *****. Instead you will see nothing. However, the system is recording your keystrokes and if you have entered your password correctly, you will be able to log on. When you enter a keystroke if you watch carefully, you may be able to see it briefly and then it will disappear. So what you have to do is very carefully enter your password. If it doesn't work, backspace several times to be sure that there's nothing left in the password box because if you have a character left over from the last failed attempt, then your password will be wrong. I suggest clicking the 'remember' box once you're successful so you don't have to go through this agony every time you want to log on. But this is normal, at least it's the way mine is and others I have spoken to. Just remember, the software is recording your keystrokes, so you will be able to log on even though you're not going to see the 'normal' box when you enter your password. Jacki :)

  13. Edited title of pinned thread to include 'How to insert a hand diagram'
  14. The Kindle Fire keypad is very touchy. So first turn on the audio so you will be able to hear the clicks. Don't expect your password to show - it won't. So type in your password paying attention to the clicks and if you hear a double click use the back arrow on the keypad to start all over again. I personally like to have my password remembered so I don't have to go through this every time. Once you enter your password, click the log on button and if you get a message that your user name or password is not valid, start again. If you've been careful with the keypad you'll get online. If you've requested the program save your password, you won't have to deal with the touchy keypad again. Kindle Fire saves your favorites, so once you access BBO you can easily access the logon screen which will be prominently shown on your KF for easy 'next time' access. And since your password has been saved, future logons you'll find, are fast and problem free. Jacki :)
  15. If you have trouble getting email through to support@, just email it to me: jacki@bridgebase.com and I'll be sure it's taken care of for you. Jacki :)
  16. We do have an ACBL Director's course available. If you're interested in taking the online course, send me email (jacki@bridgebase.com) and I'll send it to you. This will be graded by the ACBL and if you pass you will be qualified to direct ACBL games online. Jacki :)
  17. It means I will ask them. It depends on whatever else they have on their plate and right now, it's considerable. Jacki :)
  18. If you use the new version of BBO: Click www.bridgebase.com, click "Play Bridge Now" then sign in as usual, enemies will not be able to 1) send you messages or 2) Invite you to games. Just one of the many improvements to the new and improved BBO. Jacki :)
  19. Yes, it still counts even in the social rooms - the Main Bridge Club or the Relaxed Bridge Club. So try to stay until partner finishes the hand. It's usually only a few minutes and staying will not count against your completion rate. Can it be modified? Perhaps. We'll ask the programmers if they can do something about this. Jacki :)
  20. Send your question to me, email: jacki@bridgebase.com. I'll see that you get an answer. I have searched the Support emails and couldn't find one from you, but just drop me a line and we'll take care of you. Jacki :)
  21. We'll need more information to help you with this. If you can help us by sending an email to support@bridgebase.com and add a cc to jacki@bridgebase.com, we'll be able to get you up to speed. In your email please include the type of machine you use (PC or MAC) what browser you're using and any anti-virus software you have installed. Also let us know of any error messages you receive when trying to log on. Once we have this information we'll be able to help more. Jacki :)
  22. This is an unusual circumstance. Typically when a player asks to be replaced in a game it's because something has come up which makes it difficult to continue in that tournament. So to accommodate that player the TD will get a sub in and the replaced player will go off to do whatever he needs to do. However, unless that player is 'permanently subbed' and that player logs off and back on again, he will be returned to the tournament. When a player disconnects, it's important to maintain the smooth flow of the tournament. Having the returning player tell the TD that he's back and wants to be reseated, having the TD ask the person who his partner is, or looking up that information takes away valuable time from (particularly) Speedballs. So Uday, recognizing the problem, tweaked the software to remember where the disconnected player should sit and just automatically return him to that seat. The end result was that the player was reseated without the need to contact the TD and use up minutes. So, in the future if you need to leave but intend to log off and back on before the current game ends, tell the TD you will be doing that and ask that the substitute player be permanently assigned to your seat. There is a way for the directors to do this, but they need to know it's necessary. Or another way to handle it is just to stay and finish the game. Jacki :)
  23. Have you tried using Chrome which solved Barmar's problem? We're looking into this, but you might try Chrome and see if that works better in the meantime. Jacki :)
  24. It depends. If you are a substitute and you play the majority of the boards, then you are awarded the masterpoints. If the original player plays the majority of the boards, then the original player is awarded the masterpoints. Since there are 12 boards in our ACBL masterpoints tournaments, the player who plays 7 or more of the boards gets the masterpoints attached to his ACBL number and BBO player name. If the original player plays fewer than 7 boards, then that player is issued a refund, but the sub is the one who is awarded the masterpoints. If this isn't clear, just send an email to jacki@bridgebase.com and I'll be happy to explain more. Jacki:)
  25. QuiteaCard: Are you saying that sending a message to Kibitzers disconnected you from BBO? Were you able to talk to the other players at the table, or to the table with no problem? Thanks for the information, we'll investigate. Jacki :)
