My partner and I dealt this hand while practising. We got a bit stuck with the bidding and ended up with a pathetic 3NT. We subsequently realised that 7NT is possible but how to bid? My online partner opened 2C. With 4HCP + 1 length point (balanced hand & longest suit 5D), I was intending to respond 2D as a waiting bid indicating 0-7 pts. However, my RHO overcalled 2S. As a novice, I wasn't sure what to do....2NT, 3D or pass? I passed. What was the correct response in the circumstances?
