  1. I guess you're right - I noticed a .lin copy was made but did not notice that it was that one that is used when uploading. But I still wonder if it is possible to upload files in web mode; I now uploaded using the windows app and then switched to the web app to conduct the tournament - which indeed contained the correct set of boards. Also funny that you can upload the boards but cannot view or edit them anywhere - you just have to cross fingers and hope they are correct.
  2. ok thanks - that hopefully works! By the way, is there an equivalent for the web version?
  3. What's the default when creating a new tournament is not of much importance - one can click another radio button easily. What I am more worried about, is the fact that so many tournaments do not allow kibitzers. I know the problem - cheaters. But cheating can be done in more ways than by kibitzers. For me, as a player, I dislike not being able to look at what happens in some tournament - I like walking around and have fun. So my advice is to allow kibitzers always, except for money tournaments. Then perhaps it is better to have "kibs allowed" the default, so that TD's won't forget to click that option :) .
  4. I create boards in a .pbn file - I can open this correctly in BBO app, but I want to use these in a tournament. I tried about everything, but besides being very user-unfriendly, the "use saved boards" option when creating a new tournament does not seem to allow for this. Can anyone help me?
  5. It's difficult to see qhich tables got average minus scores assigned in a clocked event. But I like to adjust scores for these hands because I like that done as player too. So I would very muchj welcome a screen giving me just the boards where ave- has been assigned, so that I can select boards + players to adjust scores easily. Join forces with me!
  6. I would very much like to have a better overview of tables and their status when I am TD: - board played - trick played - minutes left That way, I know where to go to first to avoid trouble later on Can this be added to TD table overview? Hope so! I wonder what other TD's think about my request - so join forces with me!
  7. Well, I started bidding on meagre values - might as well obscure things a little bit more: I bid 4NT, intending to end in 5♥ regardless of further bidding but possibly scaring the opponents out of a good 6♠ or guiding them into a bad one. Who knowzzz what the future holdzzz (qoute Godley and Creme - Consequences :) ) Carpe Diem :)
  8. Now for a reaction of the lunatic on the other side of the table! I heard my partner bid 5♣ and started to think about the fact that it was matchpoints and whether 5♣ would be OK enough. I had the ♠K, you know, and I thought partners hand would be good enough to make both 5♣ and 3NT with overtricks possible (though not guaranteed). Had my partner bid 4♣, I would no doubt have bid 4♥ to bring in the heart suit again, passing a retreat to 5♣ since partner now "knows" I have a weak 5 suiter in hearts. Would 5♥ issue the same message? I did not know but disliking not having tried for a better score in 5♥ or perhaps even 6♣, I boldly bid it. The effect was unwanted, we were overboard, and I interchanged a near-bottom with a bottom, but it was not uncalculated for. I wanted to protect my score and missed badly, but in my opinion I tried to lift the score to say 60 or 70%, not losing much if I were wrong. I guess I am too imaginative sometimes.... Can anyone comment on my wildly undisciplined imaginative matchpoint-driven bid of 5♥? Carpe Diem
