See board 4 here: http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/daylong_hands.php?tourney=ARDARD%3Aa3d30ec4.3a81.11ea.ae30.0cc47a39aeb4-1579413906-&username=cyrenman GiB’s play at trick 11 was a surprise. Ruffing the diamond is 100% and I don’t think I’ve “promised” the !dQ on the bidding (yes, the double was very aggro—not my usual style.) Any idea what’s going on here?

Since this morning, I can't access hand records anywhere, either from http://www.bridgebase.com/myhands/index.php or after logging in. Anyone else having trouble?

Handviewer link The 3♠ bid should be forcing, since it bypasses the 3 level in the only suit we've bid, and opener has in no way shown extras. Any idea why this bizarre description and bid occurred?

The ranking issue has been fixed. However, in yesterday's CBO monthly, all players earned masterpoints: http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tarchive.php?m=h&h=day_juniors&d=day_juniors&o=djun&md=31 Is this a related issue? That is, did the top 40% of everyone in the CBO Club (and hence was automatically registered for the tournament) get masterpoints, rather than the top 40% of those who completed the tournament?
-
Since December 5th, anyone who finishes a massive IMPs tournament is ranked out of everyone who is registered for the tournament, not everyone who completed it. This leads to a massive gap in rankings between the person with the smallest nonnegative score and the person with the largest negative score. This has been occurring in both BBO daylongs (e.g. http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDARD:b4d1047a.f853.11e8.a82b.0cc47a39aeb4-1543989903) and CBO events (http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tarchive.php?m=h&h=collegiate&d=collegiate) in both regular and Just Declare tournaments, but not at matchpoints.

Mobile app 5.0.9 feedback thread
cyrenman replied to diana_eva's topic in Suggestions for the Software
It is different. In the previous version, I never had windows so small that they required horizontal scrolling. I am also observing that the windows for player profiles on Vugraph are much smaller than they used to be. -

Having bidding tables and espwcially BridgeMaster on mobile is awesome, thank you for that! -
Mobile app 5.0.9 feedback thread
cyrenman replied to diana_eva's topic in Suggestions for the Software
When I look at the provisional results for an in-progress tournament, it appears in a window too small to show everything and I have to scroll around in the window. (iPhone SE running iOS 11, if it matters.) -
I would like to register.

Sectional Start Times
cyrenman replied to jillybean's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
My unit has a nice compromise. On Friday and Sunday, the schedule is the same as for your sectional, and on Saturday there are three-session bracketed knockouts starting at 9 and single-session pairs games at 1 and 7:30. This caters to the preferences of both the morning and evening fans and is an easy way to run brackets without players being left without a session if they are knocked out. -
Confused by garbage Stayman-like bidding sequence
cyrenman replied to cyrenman's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
That is quite surprising, thank you very much for testing this sequence! I agree that is best, assuming one is willing to give up 2♠ as either natural with invitational values or a heart raise. -
Playing duplicate IMPs, EW had the following auction: [hv=pc=n&w=sjt65h7dkq9832cj9&e=s843haq6daj6cat75&d=w&v=n&b=12&a=pp1np2cp2dppp]266|200[/hv] What would W's next bid have been if E had responded 2♥ to 2♣? Both 2♠ and 2NT would show more values than W had. Would GiB use 3♦ as signoff in the auction 1NT-2♣-2♥-3♦? If it does, the auction makes sense, since if W would rather transfer to 3♦ than pass 1NT, this sequence can look for a 4-4 spade fit along the way, or even play 2♦ instead of 3♦. That seems like an unusual treatment, though, and without it, W would be in trouble after 1NT-2♣-2♥. Any idea what happened here?
