Thanks barmar, it turns out that turning off predictive text fixed the problem for me. But I'm still wondering why I can't access the mobile version for my Samsung Mini smartphone - it just doesn't show up in the search for BBO in the Play Store. I can only assume my particular model isn't compatible for some reason. I found it OK on the tablet, but as I mentioned above, the standard version works better for me on the Galaxy 10.1 - I can view it in landscape mode too. Maybe the next mobile version will fix this, do you think?

I tried that, but it doesn't work. The login input box is highlighted, but I can't get anything to stick in there. That didn't used to be the case a few months ago. I've had a firmware upgrade since then, perhaps that's why.

I have a Galaxy Tablet 10.1 and much prefer to use the ordinary (android) browser version of BBO (having just tried out this mobile/tablet version). The only problem is it's now impossible to log in using the browser. Orginally I was able to log in if I was careful, then it became more difficult still and now I can't get any letters to type in to the password box. Apologies if this is off topic.

When I go to Play Store and search on Bridge Base Online, I don't get Fred's application coming up. My phone is a Galaxy Mini, so I should be able to use it. Does this mean that my particular model isn't supported? If so, will that change in the next update?

Fred, I think you may have missed another post of mine! ;) (The main problem was being able to see partner's alerted explanation of his bid.) Anyway, I haven't reloaded the page at all during the last few days, but noticed that the font for the people browser text has changed (Impact it looks like?). So that change came through automatically. The font is pretty much unreadable on my screen, as it's so tiny - could you put it back to whatever it was before, which was very easy to read?

Having just played with the standard client, it just seems that BBOTV is aesthetically far more pleasing (the other seems overly large). I much prefer it, even though it's not fully developed yet. :) This doesn't seem to work for me, either as spectator or player. A couple more minor things I've come across: (1) The chat size isn't remembered if you either reload or open the link. It's fine if you just log off and log back on (keeping the browser tab open) (2) If you've played as East or West, then when you go back to spectator mode, the positions don't revert to the default (South at the bottom). I also wondered what are the numbers sometimes seen on the player name strips? It would be nice to have the option of kibbing partner when he plays a hand - I guess this will come later, when the other user options are developed further. :) *Edit* One more bug - partner's alert explanation (bid in square box) is visible to me.

Confirmed - I just tried it. Just to be sure, I asked my partner whether any of the cards played from dummy in a 3NT contract were not played by him (I'd played two) and he said yes and it was all very confusing! :)

Not sure if you missed my post here - I know you fixed the claim process where you are watching a game, but claiming when you are actually playing isn't working right (tricks won before the claim are not accredited to you). If you saw my post, but are still working on it, apologies! :)

I had a game at BBOTV today and it was excellent. I noticed a couple of things: As host, I could redeal but not reset the score (button not there yet I guess). There seems to be a claim problem where previous tricks won are not counted. I'm not certain this happens every time, but here's an example: Declarer was in 3NT, ducked the first trick then took the next eight. At that point, he let my partner in and partner then led my suit, so that I could cash the rest. I claimed the last three tricks, but declarer was given TEN, so Trick 1 and Trick 10 were not accredited to us. I agree with awm that being able to turn off sounds would be useful. Once or twice the chat "To" button switched from "Table" to someone's name. He wasn't even at the table, so what he thought of my comment is anyone's guess LOL. *Edit* The same thing happened when I played a hand - I'd won four tricks, then claimed the last six, and it only gave me six. Pard was not impressed hehe.

Sorry, I guess I didn't explain this properly. B) What I meant was, if BBOTV has changes made by you to its functionality, does the user need to reload the program afresh, or will those changes take effect automatically as soon as he logs in (assuming he does not close the browser window or tab meanwhile)?

Using Firefox 2.0.0.6, no problems with the update and no need to flush the cache. I'm curious to know whether, if you log out (as opposed to closing the browser window), any changes you make to BBOTV are automatically absorbed when you log in again, or whether you have to close the browser window and reload to get those changes. I tend to keep several (Firefox) tabs open permanently (except when I have to reboot for some reason) and find that logging in is very quick, but if I have to reload, it takes quite a while.

Actually I have different preferences for the hand format, so would prefer it left as is. The only thing that would be helpful is if the hand browser window would stay the same size throughout the session, if the user enlarges it (which I do). Otherwise I think the whole thing is superb (colour choices included) and I'm really looking forward to the various enhancements as they appear.
