My opinion East bid 1s with 4 cards s and only 7 points? (anyway) In fact North opening D and rebit C. So must have 5(+)D and 4(+)C and 13 + points South has 12+ points and stops in Majors so 3NT is much better. After 3D i pass...(standar American)

Ok the main problem is not the unclear resold. But the very clear resold. (E.G opponent play 6th level is already -1) (two early defence trick) or if opponent bid (correct) high and is very easy(no mater from opponent cards) or after little long bid someone over bet, redouble! cheak hand (is clearly from many tricks down) and slow play from AVE. in tought hand with some crasy finess, or crasy hold up(defence) game is fine to me(but usually is more rare the crasy defence combo from -1). in fact we can put 2,5 min clock from each side,and no 5 min clock from full game.

i can sent photos if needed. 2 from opponent, one from partener... (i don't care if the score said 50% or 100% but lost fun with out reason. At least is no very offen strategy

I am not sure if is the correct place to post, but Some players when they thing that lost(even if was wrong) try the AVE strategy. He spent all time to play, so the system said Ave 50-50. Even if the the final score is clear(is already -1, or is very easy win) the system said 0! i thing that in this case should be play 4 robot players until the hand is finished. to be fair, i just tried one time, (after 5 times does to me) but i fail :( Is no fun stategy and love this game...

Ok the "correct" move here is 1nt Forcing. But why the most players bet here 4H i have no idea(5 bets 1nt and 5 bets 4H?) Ok lets give a try from fun. If i uderstand correctly west oppening 10S. I Thing North should wait and if play the Ace we have 2 stops on♠ if not we cash the Q♠. The real threat from fail is the long ♠. Seem to my eyes that is better aford to lose one trick on East if we cash the Q. So Maybe i try 2 rounds of ♣ to see if the club is 4-1 or 3-2 If is 4-1 with no favourite side the j♣ later i just try the H from 2 hopes.The hope of 3-3 or if at least the finess H works. Lastly if and this trick fail the last hope is the ♦ finess. I mean if east win the trick, you have hopes to win the K♠ if west win the critical trick we maybe have broblems if east had the A ♠ with long suit. But If ou can take alone 6,5 tricks(i just the sigleton K and the 2 double j from 1/2 trick and i am generus) So if val are the some should beat 3H if the val is good 4H And if is bad maybe 2H(or 3H). Acordind the system 2,3,4 always. So i cannot vote yet from this information

So imagine that we play 8 board with the 1rst 100%,2nd 90%,3rd 80%,70,60,50,40,30% so average 65%. so now if count points and the 1rst one have 100 people so 100/100, 2nd 90 so 81/90. 3rd 110 so 88/110 and the rest 100 so total points is 519/800 slightly down from 65%. and if we reverce the 2nd 3rd board the % is come 521/800 slightly higher than 65%. (520/800 are 65%). with formula is better? to just add taken the averege of % or to have the total points/total theoritical points you can taken?

I am an amature player but i just thing that have some problems on rating. At the begin of the game all player must have the some score(looks like 50 on match point, and 0 on Imp tamble). After some tours the system can put points on average finished on match point ( average of all tours) and the some on Imp with + or - Ev. But 1rst of all the bridge is not a clear skill game looks like chess. Many times an error move is the only way to contact the bridge! Anyway. After some tournament of radom player we have some player with 70 or more score(MP) and some other maybe 20-. Fine. The real broblem is here. on the next tours, If the players puted by skills level the lowest players always raised up on avarage score and the skills player goes down. So maybe THE ONLY REAL SYSTEMS CAN WORKS, is no the finisher score but the finisher PLACE. (1st 2nd 3rd...) raised up the top player (with hundicap or not by the deference elo). But again the bridge must be free. And the only free tournament is the free week...

Only if 4♠ means Long S (at least 7) with 2 of 3 top cards, (and only on this case) your partener should bet 4nt here. You had AK from sure, (because he had the Q) He had 4 more tricks from sure(3 on D and one on♣) so he should try the 4nt. if you ask possitive 7 ♠ from sure. If no use the jujment if he can take the K ♥ But from me is at least 5s so no danger to try 4NT

The logical goal is 4s here. (with no beat from opponent) Cross ♣ (A or K) then run 10 K if fail then i try the finess H(j or Q). if fails both lose. if at least one works win. (if the first Finess works you may go from 4 S). in ANY case if one finess works here you should go back on s from avoid the ruff. But if the s is 4-1 you lose anyway one more s. in this case i cross the back with C and i play the As ,then onother s and so fur i had one more on my hand. Then i take the next trick (by ruff on D, by Qc or if East try H by finess try). This plan works Anyway you can watch and the GIB. from your hand... Ok this is my thinking line. On 5-0 s is no hope, on 3-2 is try win one finess. on 4-1? i dont really now if is the correct plan

So, why is a game of skill AND luck? if you miss the finess here , miss the finess and the other table, if the correct call is 6s here the correct call is 6s and on other table. ok maybe if the other table open other first card, but from my to oppen the correct card is SKILL..., -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An exaple 11 card fit miss the K. the correct plan is the cash (52 vs 48), maybe some one try the finess, and win by finess. I am not expert but i personal i just risk the 4nt here if i am N with open hand by dummy, 3 key and singeton C is no big risk here the 4NT. I cant imagine hand with 12 points that is no enought here from at least 5s...
