  1. It is my polite and humble suggestion that you play 3NT over 3S as slam aspiration, keeping all other bids except the 4S ,which is sign off,as natural bids.It makes the life much simpler for cue bidding.
  2. Playing any system the contract of 4H is easy to reach.Playing Precision it goes 1C-1D-1S-P 1Nt-P-4H All pass. Playing Old Fashioned Goren it simply goes 1H-4H.
  3. My partner opened 1NT .A 2 Club relay and opener 3D showing maximum hand with 4D and a major.3H relay 3S spades.4C asking doubleton 4H heart doubleton.4NT simple Blackwood 5club 3 Aces,5NT relay for club King,6D saying yes.7 Spades.All Pass.
  4. Why did the hand was not opened 1NT? Full balanced 16 HCP!

  6. I do not think that this hand has to force a game unless and until we hear partners rebid. The hands may turn out to ba misfit after that.A bid of forcing one trump may also prove to discover misfits and then we can sign of in 2Spades.If parner rebids 2S then we know a six carder suit and a decent hand(since he did not open 2S.).I dont think it is sensible to play ALL 2/1 as game forcing. In this respect the old fashioned way i.e.2/1 is forcing only upto 2NT or 3 of a suit was excellent.Let us say ,1S-2C-2any-2S is forcing for one round as 2NT level has not been reached.1S-2C-2S-3S is a game force and not invitational as responder would have bid not 2C but 3S to show that type of hand.Looking at Q10 of spades I am not ashamed to bod 4S if openers rebid is 2 Spades.Any rebid except 2D is easy to tackle. With all this in mind I feel the old fashioned non game forcing bid of 2C is superior.
  7. May I ask everyone a simple question ? What is the priority.? Is it to tell your partner what you hold? Is it so to say preempt opponents at the same time misinforming your partner? From the discussion that has taken place so far I guess the intention is to preempt opponents.Good Lord and if the opponents reach 3 NT and your partner is on lead the chances of his leading a diamond or a club are practically zero and it is the opponents who will steal the board.Against good level opponents it is an useless weapon.By opening and rebidding diamonds or two clubs you at least leave partner the option of sacrificing if the opponents reach a major suit game. You destroy partners faith by opening 1NT on such hands.
  8. Ladies and Gentlemen, the other day I held Kxxxx, xxx,KQxxx, void club. The auction followed exactly like the one posed here.I bid 2 diamonds. Now is it the other minor forcing or just forcing.? The sayc says new suit forcing.I feel this is not a satisfactory situation at all.Partner has been given the option of correcting to 2 spades but 2 diamonds/2 hearts must be nonforcing. The responder has other forcing bids available to him.The system perhaps never gave enough attention to such an awkward situation.I endorse the views of the EXPERT fully and suggest the system be amended accordingly. With warm regards to all you bridge colleagues.
