  1. I use a Google Doc template. I make a copy for each "serious" partnership I'm in (where serious = I'll probably play with this person a few times a year). I really like it so far. Features: Easy to share Easy to edit Easy to make suggestions Easy to link up to external references Supports BBO style !c, !d, !h, and !s shortcuts. The headings make it hyper linked document so you can jump to a specific section.
  2. Hi PaulATL. Take a look at this topic. I'd send a message to 22tango2 to try and sync up, as he's trying to get some people together. I'm learning to play and am a relative beginner in Precision, but coming along.
  3. I'm very interested (as you know). Most of my knowledge about Precision is from "Precision Today" and discussions with a BIL mentor who is teaching me his system. I'm usually available evenings, East Coast USA time.
  4. I would bid 2♥. However, I'm familiar with agreements that say, "If you have 4 card support for my 1M opening, you have to show it with your first bid". If that were the case I'd bid 2NT. I think my hand has too much going for it for 4♦.
  5. EDIT - I went and played with a pickup. We took 2nd in our strata in the 199er game. It was, in fact, super fun. I'm looking to play in the Sturbridge Regional Tournament this weekend. I'm up for a game on Saturday or Sunday, preferably in the morning. Relevant information: I prefer to play 2/1. I can play SAYC (or something that most people would call StdAmerican). I have ~15 MPs, I was hoping to play in the 49ers game. I'd classify myself as an Intermediate. I'd rather play 'up' than not play. I'll carpool if you're in the MetroWest area. You can reach me via email. Here is a link to the tourney schedule.
  6. I can't log in from my home Mac. I can log in from my Win7 work PC, Android phone, and Android tablet. Tried Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. I am running Sophos AV, but I have been ever since I've been running this computer. OSX 10.9.5 since 9/23/14. I can help by trying to run diagnostics. I can telnet into v2proxysl1.bridgebase.com 3336. I installed Firebug and it worked in Firefox. I get an error "Permission denied to access property 'toString'" and "Permission denied to access property 'document'". The latter is in https://choices.truste.com/ca?aid=comcast01&pid=comcast01&locale=en&c=_LBcLB_&cid=%EF%BF%BDuy_1408066_109771419_59002192&sid=_LBsidLB_&language=en&js=st_2&cam=3 and is in the code if(!d){var J=truste.ca2.findFrame();try{d=truste.ca2.getPreviousSibling(J,E);E.docRef=top.document}catch(y){window.console&&console.log&&console.log(y.message)
  7. I'm guessing yes. For me, 3NT = balanced, above minimum hand (14-16ish).
  8. How do you play 4NT? Invitational to 6NT. Here, probably showing around a balanced 17. I play 1NT 15-17, in which case it's probably a balanced 16. Does it ask for the absolute top of your range or just the top half? Top half would be the closer description. It asks to go to 6 with anything other than the bare minimum. Do you like this ace-less hand with good intermediates? I love to leave it at 4. I wouldn't bid 6NT. (It's unlikely, but we may be off 2 aces). I rebid 5NT passing it back to responder, but is there a more informative bid? In my partnership 5NT after 4NT is an invalid bid. I'm the captain now. My partner knows what I have and is issuing an invitation. I can accept or decline. Do you play 1NT - 5NT meaning don't pass unless you are dead minimum. I don't have an agreement here. I'd bid 6NT automatically.
  9. Agreed. I'm still very much an improving beginner and all I have experience with is SAYC and, more recently, 2/1. If the opening bid in Acol denies a 4card major then there's no chance of missing a 4-4 fit. For the systems I've played 1♠ is a mandatory bid by responder.
  10. I probably would not invite. Responded bypassing 1S is nutso to me.
