  1. Anyone else with this problem. Get a really strange, garbled screen when I try.
  2. More questions and mysteries re new set-up First of all don't understand: "Using chrome, click on the the three bars where the hand is then click 'export' 'handviewer link' and click on the link that appears in the middle of the screen." I have several weird things occurring- for example often difficulty when tourney's over to return to main menu either blank screen or a strange screen only with sidebar working or often during tourneys screen popping up telling me I'm about to be logged off. and today alert appearing after pass made. Support replies frequently with go to reason- browser issue.New computer these oddities? {using chrome, tried firefox} Oh well as one support person said , just log out and sign in again! Huh? Also very interesting thread discussions on Bridge Winners site. Further, did you like the sudden disappearance of "recent hands" without any warning. Are bridge savvy techs running the show? That's it, c'est tout.
  3. I find that such hands are difficult to know what to do when playing with pick-ups, non regular partners. Usually end up bidding slam and then deal with comments etc.
  4. Lately the level of a player does not appear nest to the players name when I go to th ACBL partnership list. I queried this and got this reply: If you click on a username in the partnership desk list, it brings up their profile, and that's the same as it's always been. No changes :) Really? Why? Oh well I will revert to the tried and true "old version" Also lately lots of losing connection while playing.
  5. I totally disagree- the old adage is very sound; IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, TRY TRY AGAIN. What would be the point of doing what your comment says.
  6. Gerardo I wish somehow you could walk me through the "how to" post cc's! Someone needs to do a step -by- step if you need to post a cc with a non regular partner, or change a cc during play once it it posted.:)
  7. 1)If you pick up a Partner just prior to an ACBL tourney starting how do you post a 2/1 cc when game has started? 2) If you need to add/delete to the cc once playing how do you do it. All so simple on FLASH version. I have asked so many on new version and either they don't use it or like me- mystified. So I don't appear to be the only dull light on the street. Alas, back to the old version with the constant crashes.
  8. Is it possible to get Undo and Redeal out of the Hamburger Menu.I find two of the most useful uses of Bridge Master is to be able to screw up,undo (often several times) try to figure out the correct plays and redeal. To have to go to the Hamburger Menu click on it and then click on what you want is a real pain. Please try your best to fix! Also a claim button would be useful. thank you
  9. thank you scarletv for your informative reply. I now understand why ACBL TD's are so prompt in dealing with ZT issues and those of others tourneys are unable to access the chat log. They have a tougher road to hoe.
  10. Advice please If, during a tournament you encounter chat comments that violate the zero tolerance rule, what does one do? My experience is that if you call the TD you are asked to copy them with the offending remarks and then given the COMMAND to play/bid . My dilemma: how does one try and copy and paste to the TD and proceed to play intelligently fast enough before being booted- which to me is being victimized twice. Surely the TD has immediate access to the log. It has happened that in ACBL tourneys I have noticed some TD's attend to the issue immediately either with a rebuke (which usually suffices) or removal of offender. They message the table that they will review log prior to any action. Sounds professional to me. However, in other tourneys often nothing happens if you manage to paste comments and play, still with the offending partner. Is the only solution to quit the tourney and perhaps be blocked from future ones or ask to be removed which the TD will usually do quite happily and this begs the question- why should the offender not be removed? Again an innocent player who simply wanted an enjoyable tourney being victimized twice and offender gets a new partner. Of course in an individual tourney the offender moves on and probably quite happily keeps victimizing.
  11. I am having several difficulties with the software since all the upgrades- I cannot keep my preferences , clear cache etc and am now losing connection during games- have queried this but no replies. Prior to the last few weeks I never lost preferences and never got lost connection. It takes awhile to reboot and ofter the bbo sign flashes when logging in. Just me?
  12. My 2 cents- I am wondering what/who initiated this change to the Friends list? Was there a user survey taken? I used the list for marking players I enjoyed games with, "not bonded" friends. Now I had to get rid of this list as I will not "follow" anyone. That is creepy. What does it mean anyway- where am I following them to? Previously, if they signed on and I invited to play well and good, if they declined, tant pis. I am not interested in a slew of "bonded" friends. The system worked fine for both uses. While on my soap box, another suggestion: get rid of the star "compatibility" system. There are many obnoxious players with lots of stars. Further it messes up the registration desk- return to a plain alphabetical listing, with or w/o stars. The Keep it Simple Management style works best.
  13. Thank you! I realize the BBO ads are necessary and are not the issue, but it is the other ones that appear when one is playing and are flashing. That happened once on Windows 7 but using malware and emptying the cache fixed the problem, but no luck here so wondering if it is a problem with 8.1
  14. I have just started using Windows 8.1 and using online version I get ads when signed in. I have run malwre cleared cache etc. but to no avail. Any ideas out there?
  15. Garbage in, garbage out. I use the "enemies" list not for enemies per se but for players with different styles and systems with whom I'd rather not partner. I delete the list occasionally and start over. I would hate to think that some excellent player is damaged just because we do not play the same system.
