  1. Partner is a robot. GIB doesn't signal.
  2. Thanks for that info. I normally play five card suits for overcalls. But if partner had six diamonds then the law of total tricks would support a five diamonds bid. My partner bids conservatively so I thought he had a strong hand to enter the auction at the two level.
  3. Partner should have made his 2D call on a five card diamond suit. With strong five card support I treated the situation like a direct game raise of partners major. The opponents did not have a convention card, so I may have taken some liberties since they were not very good bridge players. As for us, we were using natural bidding with Stayman and Jacoby Transfers.
  4. [hv=pc=n&s=sq86h5dkj964ck972&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=1npp2dp]133|200[/hv] I'm in a youth bridge tournament and I pick up this hand. West could not answer for the 1NT opening range and partner and I did not play balancing. What would you bid? Here is the full deal and what actually happened. [hv=pc=n&s=sq86h5dkj964ck972&w=sjt952hj874dq7cj5&n=sakhkqt6dat85c864&e=s743ha932d32caqt3&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=1npp2dp5dppdppp&p=hah5h4h6cac2c5]399|300[/hv] Notice that with only four diamonds, partners call was made in error but east's two aces were the only tricks for the defense so partner made five diamonds doubled for a top board. What are your thoughts on the hand?
