I can only endorse this recommendation. It is fun to play with the three robots, but it seems it could be a much better experience for learning. Having a way to slow things down so that it becomes possible to think about the what's and why's would be a big step in the right direction. I often have trouble even catching the count of tricks at the end of the game and I never have time to consider what happened after my play in the last trick. It would also be a help to get some feedback on bidding. Sometimes I make a mistake in bidding and I realize the mistake on my own (perhaps I clicked on the wrong button by mistake, for example). Other times I am simply mystified about what went wrong and why my partner seems to me to have bid so oddly. When the software can recognize that my bid was wrong, I'd like to have that feedback - at least as an option.
