  1. Players can and do talk to each other on phones while playing BBO Tournaments. I have brought this to the attention of both ACBL and BBO, neither is willing to do anything about it. I no longer play pair games on BBO because of this.
  2. Understanding GIB bidding - Robots cannot not count = 6 card suit ( can be anywhere from 4 to 6 cards) Rebid of a suit = 5 card suit (2,3,4,5,10) robot can bid it 3 times High Card Point count = singleton King = 5 pts; Ace, King, x, x = 7 pts. same with Queen or Jack! (no sense of suit quality) Notrump bid by person, shows at least 3 card support for all suits. So when the bidding goes 1 club, pass, 1 spade, pass do not bid 1nt with 12 to 17 points if you have a singleton spade. Robot will go to 4 spades with a poor suit if you bid a makeable 3nt. Competitive bidding, do not take one more bid, if you do Robot will always raise it one more level so that you go down more. Always remember when playing Robot Tournaments that you are playing against 3 robots!
  3. I agree, someone at BBO is editing or stacking the hands. I have reported this to the ACBL Director, but they do nothing. I feel these stacked hands encourage cheating and reward bad bidding and play. But to date BBO refuses to address the problem, or the BBO person who is doing this. I think BBO should remove them from the payroll. I would like to see ACBL stop awarding master points on BBO until there is an investigation. I mostly play ACBL Regional Tournaments, and do not see hands of this nature, and not three or four in a row like they seem to show up on BBO.
  4. I totally agree with what is being said. My thought is that robots should pass all non-forcing bids above the five level, unless the robot is the RKC bidder and know that all control cards are accounted for. Robots seem to have no feature to take into account voids, or strong distribution.
