  1. I'm studying an Australian congress-level director's exam, and this question seems quite involved: "As a pair is moving to another table for the next round, a kibitzer advises them that an opponent revoked on the last hand. They call you. When you speak to all parties, it is agreed that the revoke occurred." The issues seem to be: "..a spectator at the table shall not draw attention to any aspect of the game" (76B5). Is it relevant that the kibitzer did not disturb their match? Was the revoke noted after the end of the round? (645) The round ends when the director calls a move (8B1), which isn't specified. And should the director override the kibitzer/end-of-round issues to restore equity? (12A1, 12B1, 64C) Or do you walk away with your hands in the air because everybody was too sleepy to notice a revoke? :)
  2. Thank you very much for the detailed responses! I like the 3N non-slammy, and other suggested 4-level responses. The actual hand was: ♠T9xxx ♥QT9xx ♦x ♣xx Gwnn you're probably correct that the undiscussed 4♥ bid was dangerous. I was playing with an ex-Australian rep, and he presumed I had roughly Kxxx,Kxxx,xx,Axx and so bid 6♠, two off. I thought my bid was a two-way shot, thinking that partner probably had the big balanced hand, but on the off-chance he didn't, I wanted to make sure RHO's next decision was at the 4-level (many partnerships pass a 2♦ multi initially with 16+ for better or worse).
  3. All vulnerable: LHO passes Your partner bids 2♦ (weak 2 in a major or 22-23 bal) RHO passes You bid 4♥ What does your bid mean? What should your partner do with the big hand? What hand do you have to bid 4♥? After hearing your thoughts I'll show you the hand and ask how you'd bid it. Thanks :)
  4. That was what I presumed. I'll be asking all strong partners how they play these auctions so I can get a sense of expectations in an undiscussed partnership. Cheers.
  5. [hv=d=n&v=0&b=1&a=pp1sdp2cp]133|100[/hv] How can West show various huge hands? 2♦ = good 16/17+ 3♦ = ? (passable?) cue spades then ♦ = ? (GFing?) Today my partner bid 3♦ here and thought it was game-forcing. I realised I don't really know. Is there a "standard"? How would you bid with a random (decent) partner? Thanks
  6. Is that something like: ♠x ♥AKJxxx ♦Axx ♣Qxx?
  7. 1♣ - 1♥ 1NT - 3♠ What is 3♠ here? Is it an auto-splinter? (along the lines of 1♣ - 1NT - 3♥) Thanks
  8. Can anyone explain how I can rotate imported deals in Bridge Baron 24? I have successfully imported a .PBN file, now I'm just wondering if I can choose to play as East (or South, for example). Thanks!
  9. 1♥-4♦ (splinter) 5♣ Somebody asked me today if 5♣ here is exclusion or a club control. Is there a consensus that exclusion requires a jump? Thanks
