  1. Just as a matter of interest, does anyone have any idea of what the % usage of the web based version is at this time versus the old windows version ? Does BBO have any way of figuring this out? And how it varies between regions of the world ? Just curious. pabruin
  2. The new netbook computers with 7 to 10 inch screens and priced from $300 to $450 look very interesting for playing BBO on the road (or in bed). Has anyone tried this and are there any problems in playing BBO on this hardware.?I cannot think of any but thought I would ask the question before laying out the money. Are there any models that menbers can recommend because of any features that support BBO particularly well ? Ron
  3. I just got a powerbook with virtual PC. It works fine on BBO. I needed VPC for other purposes so I could justify the cost as a business expense. Not sure that I would buy VPC for BBO use alone. Ron
  4. I am working my way through Mike Lawrence'd instructional CD on 2/1. I see that he recommends the use of invitational JS at the 3 level . That is 1X- 3Y where Y is a lower ranking suit. Applies when X is majors or diamonds. You have to give up Bergen raises and Mike usually gives the pros/cons of various treatments but does not say much on this issue other than you have to give up Bergen. Can anyone point me to an article, book that discusses this point. Also how common is the usage of invitational JS at the expert level? Ron
  5. Is anyone playing bridge on BBO using a Macintosh and the virtualPC software? I know that this combination is able to run many PC programs but at a slower speed than the latest PCs. As BBO is not an application that demands speed, does the Mac + VPC do the job or are there some other bugs that I should be aware of? The latest Mac is an atractive package for me for all of the other uses I have for a computer. Ron
