  1. You're playing teams game, sitting in the 2nd positioin, vul against nonvul holding ♠63 ♥AKQ9743 ♦Q4 ♣42 Your opening bid? I suppose it's either 1♥ or 4♥. If you open 1♥ and partner answers 1♠ meaning 0-4 spades and 5-11 points, what's your rebid? EDIT: Your RHO has passed.
  2. 1NT is 15-17..so it turns out that there is not an obvious call here. We had some discussion in the club as well, without any relevant conclusions, except that this card is a pass. I've doubled at the table, but after taking all the answers into account, I think I'm leaning towards passing in a similar situation next time. And yet I'm not sure whether the double should be short in spades (I believe I should be holding clubs) and showing hearts and diamond tolerance, or suggesting partner to leave it in with some defensive strength...
  3. [hv=pc=n&e=s84hqj62d952ckjt2&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=p1d2cp2spp]133|200[/hv] What about in other vulnerabilities? 1!d is 4+, 2!s is max with 5+ spades.
  4. E obviously holds a singleton ♠ and 5carded ♥ suit. so he is probably 43 in the minors..why not cashing another spade and see what his discard is gonna be. the 2nd option of those you proposed has certainly a higher % to be a winning one...but i would cash a 3rd spade now...what is E's discard?
  5. why do you believe 3♦ is not good here? they surely have a game, if W doesn't have 5card M he will probably double. partner can now raise to 4♦ and make it harder for opps to find the right major to play. during the play declarer will prolly put me for some diamond values and perhaps missplay the hand. pass was my first idea as well, but after i gave it a thought, 3d seems like a good shot..
  6. partner is on the first position, he passes, right opp opens 1♣, you hold (nonvul vs vul) [hv=pc=n&s=s765h2dt98752cq32]133|100[/hv] what is your bid and why?
  7. Team game, vul vs nonvul, on the first position you hold [hv=pc=n&n=s4h98752d7ckjt864]133|100[/hv] what is your bid?
