If it is then I'm not aware of it, started playing in October last year and just picked Jacoby 2NT response - so the partnership methods in play at this table were pretty lacking. Researching Splinters makes them seem like a good idea to pick up, I was to concerned with the bidding just going 4♦, 5♦. Which I'd be forced to pass.

Second last board of a close teams match, playing basic ACOL. I feel like this is unscientific as hell and there has to have been a better way to have bid wests hand.
