  1. Yes I know. The complete answers are very useful, but our team teorist :D , remove the complete TAB's answers because our partners often have some "memory problem", and we now play a very simple and less effective version of it.
  2. I think it's not the system, it's who plays it! EarlPurple is right, I should have thought to play in spades and ask for support. I will show partner's hand (and the play) to see how do you bid this, but first I was curios to know if, with the same information, you experts would bid 6 or 7.
  3. ♠AKQJx ♥Axx ♦KQ ♣Axx Vul: All Dec: S Monday's low level Club tournament. Last deal of the third and last round, the opponents are in 2nd place after the first two round, just behind you. In this round you are scoring average. The bidding, with silent opponents. 1♣* - 2♦* 3♦* - 3♠* 4♦* - 4♠* Playing our beginners' version of Precision, I know that: - Pd has 8-12HCP, 5+[d] - Pd has ♦A - Pd has one K Playing our beginners' version of Precision, I don't know if: - Pd has 5 or more diamonds - Pd has ♦J What is your choice? We can also talk about the bidding, but I would like to know your evaluation at this point. Thank you.
  4. Well, someone should open a thread on this. Of course, another for male bridgeplayer, to be politically correct... <_<
  5. Take a look here for another example of an End play defence that impressed me very much, of course, less than slothy's post :)
  6. I played the same hand yesterday. After 1♠ - (2♣) - 2♠, East didn't introduce his hearts but raised clubs, and I played 4S: 1♠ - (2♣) - 2♠ - (3♣) 4♠ - all pass After the club lead, I played the ♠K (the line suggested by flame), because I have only one entry to dummy (of course, trumps must be 3-2) This line wins when LHO has both the missing major aces. If they are bad placed, after losing two hearts and ♠A, I can still win playing West for ♠AJ or ♠A9 (as it was), intrafinessing (is this correct?) the ♠T from dummy. As the cards lies, playing a small diamond to ace loses because West has only one diamond. In the real life, West (who didn't now my diamonds' length! ...and yes, wasn't very brilliant ;) ), shifted to diamond at trick 3, and now I win with both ♠A9 or ♠AJ on my left: ♦A, ♠Q and all the diamonds, East can ruff but I lose only one heart.
  7. 4D, but if I would know it is a prepared hand, 5 is tempting....
  8. I think you should check this, if it is forcing, pass.
  9. Pass, I'm not sure that "5Sx will be good", I have an idea that west bid 3s and then 4s just to be doubled, but it seems the only way to get a plus score....
  10. This is the key of this bid. Unfortunately, N isn't sure of 4NT meaning... Cue-bidding Clubs and then Spades is not the same, because partner's hand is: ♠- ♥AQ10xx ♦Q10xxxx ♣xx You make 5 hearts +1 (West leads a SP), but you couldn't bid it....
  11. Sorry again, I hope it's clear now (original message modified). I forgot to translate... :o
  12. Sorry, maybe it wasn't clear. 3C FROM EAST, natural, 10+HCP (?!), 5+ clubs. The bid is: S-W-N-E 1H-p-2d-3c 3d-p-?
  13. North ♠Axx ♥- ♦AQxxxx ♣Axxx South ♠Qxx ♥AKxxx ♦Kxx ♣Kx None vul. Decl. South 1H (5+, maximum 15 HCP)-P-2D(forcing manche)-3C 3D-P-? What is your evaluation of the hand (from North's point of view)? Do you agree with the bid of 3D? What do you bid now?
  14. South ♠AKQx ♥KJxxx ♦Axx ♣x Vul. all Decl. West. You are South, after W-N-E-S 1C-2NT*-3S**-? *2NT (diamonds and hearts, 9+cards) **3S (not forcing) what is your evaluation of the hand? What do you bid now? (If you double: 1C-2NT-3S-X P-4D-P- what do you bid now?)
  15. WE want to survive the next brainstorming session on the system !! :D
  16. Thanks to you all. I agree that it is mainly a problem of hand evaluation, expecially for East. Still I'm not sure if it is so easy to bid 6s for me....
  17. West ♠KQJ2 ♥JT98 ♦Qx ♣Kxx East ♠A8765 ♥6 ♦AKxxx ♣Ax 1) South (dealer) opens 2H (weak). How should West and East bid now? 2) How should West and East bid if West is dealer (with silent opponents)? 3) How should West and East bid if East is dealer (with silent opponents)? I play SAYC with some gadgets, but your suggestion will be welcome with any system.
  18. Ok Ben, I was only saying that I was Chamaco's pard in the a.m. hand :(, and this hand is the reason why he posted the question. Now I agree that 4♦ should be forcing, I didn't realize it at the table. I didn't consider 3♥, because if pard now bids 3NT, he shows the ♣ control that I'm looking for. I think it is a good reason to try for a slam. Bye
  19. Hi all. The actual hand was: ♠AQxx ♥ATxx ♦A86 ♣xx with the correct meaning of 4♦, it is possible to verify the ♣control. Instead, if you bid 4♣, there could be problems after pard's 4♦.... :(
