  2. [hv=pc=n&w=sjhq42dakq95432ca&e=sa9854hakt8d7ck76&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=1cp2dp7nppp]266|200[/hv] This was our last hand in the Bavarian Open 2014. Only 2 out of 13 pairs found 7NT. Our Opponents needed exactly 3 bids to find this laydown grand. System: Blue Club 1♣ = 17+ 2♦ = 6 controls 7 NT = I can count 13 tricks (8 ♦ + 3 Aces + 2 Kings. Would you have found this one with your favorite partner at the table of a tourney?
  3. What about double (with EQUAL-LEVEL-CONVERSION)?
  4. Michaels shows a) below opening-strength OR b) 16+ HCP imho.
  5. [hv=pc=n&e=sq8743hdakj52ck76&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=pp1h]133|200|IMPs[/hv]
  6. [hv=pc=n&s=skq64haqd8542ckj3&n=saj832h75d7caqt62]133|200[/hv] Do you have a tool to find the double-fit in the blacks after 1NT OR 1♦(playing weak NT)? Would you with your favorite Partner find this 100% slam?
  7. OK; I learned a lot about this nice feature in the BBO-software using GIB PLAY and NEXT Buttons. I didn't know this feature before. But I understand many looks and few replies. I posted this hand in the hope to have a discussion the hand could be played. I found it very interesting, that West must not lead ♥10 and more interesting to see what happened, if West plays ♥9 instaed of small to trick #1. In the end there are a lot of nice situations concerning trumps and/or endplay in spades. Now I have 2 questions: 1) How do you play the hand, if you cannot see the E_W-cards, after the "normal" lead of ♦Q? 2) Why is the hand advertised in the BBO-news? Who did this for what reason? Many thanks for answers Al
  8. @Whereeagles. Nice tool that GIB-button. But how the defense will continue to beat declarer?
  9. [hv=pc=n&s=skt87hkqj4d98cq73&w=saj3ht53dqjc98654&n=s62ha876dak642ck2&e=sq954h92dt753cajt&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=ppp1dp1hp2hp2sp4hppp]399|300|[/hv] This hand came up in a BB-Robot-tourney. I got 100% for making 4♥ against terrible defense by the Gibs. I'm wondering, if you can make 4♥ against perfect defense. Another question: What is the best plan to play after lead of ♦Q. Is there more than the 50% chance (Playing West for ♠A)?
  10. You are rite, Pavlicek's tool is great, but the odds for at least 4 tricks with double finesse are 76% and with banging down A and K are 69,44% Spade double finesse is the correct play imho.
  11. [hv=pc=n&s=s32ha8765dat7ckq2&n=sakt95hj42dk42cj6&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=p1sp2hp2sp3nppp]266|200|West leads Diamond 9, East contributes the Q, while you played low from table. The ♦9 is alerted as coded 9/10.[/hv] Sure, 4 hearts is the better contract and partner is to blame for his bidding. But you should concentrate making this 3NT. Partner will not like your complaints about his bidding if you lose a makeable contract. You count 5 sure tricks and expect 2 more from Clubs after the Ace is out. Where (hearts or spades) do you look for the missing 2 tricks? If you develop hearts, how do you handle the suit? If you develop spades, how do you handle the suit? What are the odds to win this contract?
  12. [hv=pc=n&s=shk32dac2&w=sjthajtdc&n=sa2hq54dc&e=s3h6d32cj]399|300[/hv] South plays in 6NT and leads with 8 tricks in the bag Diamond A as squeeze-card. Declarer makes 4 of the last 5 tricks in this 5-card ending by means of a squeeze without count. Does anyone know the name of this squeeze? Ty for your answers Al
  13. [hv=pc=n&s=sk2haqt932dqck432&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1cp1hp2cp?]133|200[/hv] Possible contracts are 4♥, 5♣ or 6♣ What is the way to find out the best contract? What if partner holds something like and 3NT is the best contract? [hv=pc=n&n=sqj7hdak32cqjt975]133|100[/hv]
  14. yes trumps were 4=0 and you need the squeeze this was the complete hand: [hv=pc=n&s=sak82haj7dak2cak4&w=shkq65d87643cjt85&n=sqt975h2dqtcq9762&e=sj643hq9843dj95c3]399|300[/hv]

The grand has more than 75%. clubs 3-2 East single 10 or J of clubs heart-club squeeze against either opponent, who holds the heart honors and 4 clubs.
