As I said, weird auction happened at the table: pass, nothing, pass, pass. What now? I have no idea what TD should decide here. Anyone?

I really do not get some "opinion - dogmatic fact" (I really like it) here. What happened with all those guys who voted for my hand 1NT? What happened with whole bunch of criticism about 5 cards overcalls on second level? What happened to those who said my hand is to strong to pass and this one some voted pass? Looks like I will never catch this "expert" level or I am just losing time at forum not much better then Croatian one?

I generated that first two seats do not have an opening, neither preemptive bids on any level. And so...and so...and so...giving us that BY FAR the best CHANCE to have a fit and make contract for you is 2/3 D. Second best is 1NT, what is hard to expect to be bided by your partner if you double (what 50% of the members here voted). Now, I am still ready to learn from experts and first 100 top world players and would like if somebody can explain me, after above mentioned FACTS, would D fit, as best, be easier found by biding 1NT, X or 2D? Exactly, but it looks like people do not read those posts at all. I never said 2D is good, and never said I still do, but that SEEMED to me at the table good. SEEMED, past tense. Much better players, not to say pros and champs bided even more stupid things at the table. I can not agree that most of Italians are Europeans, but all of them. I never said 2D is good I just said it seemed to me at the table the best. Taking serious Croatian forum or not is your personal choice, but you could keep it for yourself and it would be nicer. I found at this site whole bunch of a stupid things and I kept it for myself. I do not have in my mind to persuade people what to think about different European bridge sites. I do not see much sense why it is important who did you talk to. MFA and Fluffy should be good if they are what you said, but OK, I should not be bad myself ranked high here and was captain of national team at last years European championships in France. I am not a pro but I finesse OK. And the people I spoke to here are certainly not basketball but a bridge players. The important thing is that the "bridge schools" are very different and that's the fact. Like in any other sport. Let say football: Italians - defense, Germans - stamina, Portugal - technique, English - long balls, French - atack...You still do not agree? And asit is almost 01:00 a.m. I am sleepy. But I wll give you tommorow something else to show you how many different answers we will get on this forum. OK?

Hi there. Ok yesterday noon I posted the very same question at Croatian bridge association forum and get very different answers. X - 2 1NT - 13 2D - 7 Like we are not playing the same game. If you ask me it is not very clear what to bid. Or far from clear cut at least. With 1 NT you describe best the shape. Unfortunately not very good stopper. I do not like X because no HP in xxx clubs but I agree as well this describe the shape but w/o stopper. And I would prefer in the rest of the suits better shape from 353, at least 344 or even 4 hearts. For 2D you are short for a card and will have problem to find possible heart fit. I was thinking which bid can reduce the damage. Any bid can get you in trouble. None can tell what can be the cheapest contract if partner have nothing. Very probably you will run from 1NT double in 2D even not more secure. If partner have something he will not pass that we can miss the game. If you expect that you will be overbided with 2S your 2D bid helps partner to bid 3D to fight for a contract. I bided 2D. I do not say it is good, but at the moment seemed the best to me. After all, I want to stress the very big differnce in opinions from this one and our local bridge forum.

Hi there! Few days back we started a topic at our local bridge site forum, about something that was clear cut to me. Unfortunately, as it stands, it is far from it, as the "scary thing" divided opinions even between some of the strongest Croatian players. 1) So, what do you rebid after opening 1♠ and partner's 1NT as nat with 5440? 2) Any difference if you have 12 or 19 HP? 3) How do you rebid 5044? 4) Any difference if MP or IMP? THX
