  1. My partner had this problem trying to log in with an "old mac". She reports that MacKeeper solved the problem.
  2. I regularly run a 20+ table unclocked tournament. I have noticed recently that a pairs can have a long wait (soemtimes over 10 minutes) between moves towards the end of the tournament. There must be at least one other pair waiting - the pair they have just played - has the movement been changed to avoid re-matches?
  3. Ran one yesterday 8 rounds with a break after round 4 using command +break4+. It worked fine by adding time to the round before the break. It is supposed to add an hour but it only added about 40 minutes. See My link for more details.
  4. Once a tournament is set-up by a specific user only that user can amend the include list. So if you specify an additional director and run the tournament from that director then modifying the tournament will not change the include list. The original director could set up another tournament with a different include list without affecting the first tournament. The other thing you can do is to set up a number of tournaments in advance and then modify them with a new up to date include list on the day they are due to run. Again they need to be run by an additional director in case you need to modify prior to the start. Hope this helps. We operate this way in Scotland without problems.
  5. We are running a 12 round unclocked tournament with 37 tables. At the end of round 10 there were two tables finished and four tables still playing (all the rest were on round 11, 12 or finished). None of four pairs in the two tables waiting were moved on and had a long wait (over 5 minutes) as the tables playing were very slow. I have not noticed this happening before. is it a fault tonoght? Has the programme changed to stop re-matches?
  6. When I enter 6.5 minutes per board it is excpeted, but when I create the tournament it jumps to 7 and the round times 14 for 2 board rounds or 21 for 3 board rounds. I cannot get it to 13 minutes for a two board round. Am I doing something wrong?
  7. Playing in casual recently, I have been removed by the host on a few occasions usually early only in a session before I have done anything to deserve it. Of course there can be a lot of reasons why this happens - they may be waiting for a friend for example. However I suspect that is often happens in error. When you are host you get three options: Remove, Remove and Show Profile. When you are not host you only get the Show Profile option. Many players don't understand what being made the host means or even notice that they have become host. They click on a new players profile to see what they play and remove them unintentionally. I does seem to me that the first option should be "Show Profile" not "Remove" so it is consistent.
  8. I run a regular tournament for my club, 12 boards 6 rounds. I decided to run it as a Swiss for the first time and had 17 tables. The two pairs at the top played each other three time in succession. I appreciated that pairs may play each other more than once but three times in a tournament this size seems excessive. Is this very unusual? The hand record is at My link Is there something I can do to avoid it?
  9. The problem arises in a hand playing with BBO bots. Last time I re-opened in this sort of situation the bot pushed to a slam assuming I had 20+ points! So playing with a bot I would pass. Playing with a regular partner I would double. Partner may have a good heart holding so would pass or bid 3NT, I would pass any four level minor bid.
