  1. If you are ever stuck as to how to respond to partners takeout double try using the enemy suit to pass the buck back to partner. Here is a example :- W N E S 1D X NB ? South holds S.AQ82 H.K1052 D.82 C.AJ10 South should bid 2D with the above hand. The 2D bid says "I think it best if you chose the suit partner"
  2. I would open 2S on the South hand. In my experience it pays to get in the bidding if I own the Spades. Spades are the emperor of the suits, always keeping you one step ahead of the opposition. I would suggest this bidding sequence:- South North 2S 3C (forcing) 3D 4NT (Roman Keycard Blackwood for spades) 5D(1 or 4) 7S Pass Using simple Blackwood makes reaching the slam difficult as the trump King doesnt count in the 4NT bid which essentially asks for Aces alone.
  3. I think profiles ahould be mandatory for tournament play. They are complusory in real life tournaments so why not in on line ones? The Laws of Bridge for Tournaments are quite strict about this, "Both members of both partnerships must provide clear and accurate information of their chosen bidding system and this be fully and freely available to the opponents. Both partners must play the same agreed system. All conventional/cypher bids/carding methods must be alerted when they are made and explained if opponents request at their turn to bid."
