  1. I've used the Full Disclosure editor in the Windows version of BBO to create a convention card. When my convention card is in use, where on the screen do opponents who use the current web version look to see the bid explanations?
  2. Found it! Here's the link: https://www.bridgebase.com/intro/installation_guide_for_bbo.php
  3. Is this a known issue? On two separate occasions, after using BBO in Mozilla Firefox for over a hour with no problem, the entire interface started flickering wildly, apparently in connection with my mouse movement. (When I kept the mouse still, the flickering stopped.) In software development terms, it was as if a mouse move event had been spontaneously added to the software. I think it might be specific to Firefox, because on one of these occasions, I simultaneously opened BBO in IE11. Firefox had the problem while IE didn't.
  4. In the Main Bridge Club, I'd like to be able to filter tables using the following criteria: - type of scoring (IMPs, MPs, etc) - level of play - number of empty seats - whether permission is required to sit If I had these available, I would always select IMPs, Advanced/Expert, one empty seat, and permission is required. As it is, I find it very difficult to do the filtering manually. By the time I locate a suitable table, the one empty seat has often been filled.
  5. In the Windows version, the ads were very "quiet" (changed only occasionally), and in the lower right corner. In the web version, they use bright colors, change quickly using gifs, and take up the entire left side of the screen. Is there any customization available -- anything at all -- to make them less intrusive?
  6. The computer which I’ve been using to play on BBO for almost 10 years just died, so I’m on a new computer. I REALLY loved the Windows version of BBO, and absolutely hate the web version. Is the Windows version still available for download, and if so, can you please give me the link?
  7. Money bridge and tournament bridge are two different worlds, with just a little bit of overlap. So, the first answer is that money bridge players don't know that BBO exists. Another big reason is that, when playing for money, players tend to want every possible advantage, and "table feel" (i.e., being able to look your opponents in the eye, and observe the little nuances of their behavior) is one of the biggest advantages that an experience player can have. Online, you have no idea what your opponents are doing. That could include cheating, of course, but even leaving dishonest behavior out of the question, there is plenty of information that one is entitled to within the laws of bridge, that isn't available online.
  8. I'm having a hard time finding suitable partners on BBO. I consider myself "Advanced +". I've never won an unlimited master point (i.e., Flight A) event, and my highest-ever National event placement was 48th. So, I can hardly call myself an Expert. Yet, most of the players on BBO who claim Expert status seem to be considerably below my level -- I'd call them Intermediate, or at the lowest rung of Advanced. Meanwhile, since I won't follow the crowd and lie about my skill level, many Expert players, even ones that may be below my skill level, won't allow me to play at their tables. Even if I did lie and call myself an Expert, nobody would believe me, just like I don't believe them. I'm getting very tired of playing with one Bozo after another. I know there are excellent players somewhere out there. So, my question is: How do I find Advanced + players on BBO, AND get them to play with me? The second half of the question is just as important as the first.
