  1. 11. "Director please" instead of "DIRECTORRRRRRRRRR"
  2. What I do is, open the Lin file in BridgeComposer (you can search the net for this utility), change the board numbers as desired and save it. While BridgeComposer app opens lin file it only saves in pbn format. But then, there is a simple online free utility to change pbn file to lin file, courtesy http://johnfromarran.org.uk/Bridge/PbnToLin.html
  3. I try and see if I can find a recognized steady pair playing the same system as I do and then compare my results with theirs, board by board.
  4. The link should be similar to this: https://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=nnnn-nnnnnnnnnn Just replace the digits in the URL above after the "t=" with your tournament ID number.
  5. All hands are not visible to the player claiming. Visible only to the other pair, as it should be!
  6. Absolutely second your suggestion. I have been a victim too, of such reckless concession by my partner (not by choice). -Ravi
  7. Thanks Barmar. My request is to see if such an option can be provided when a tournament is being set up.
  8. When a player gets disconnected and stays disconnected, say, for a 30 secs or one minute period, can such a player get auto replaced by a Robot? I do not see an option to do that while setting up the tournament. Of course, once the player gets back online he/she should get reseated at the end of the board or round automatically
  9. I think if you register with a Robot, you cannot substitute the Robot later, because your registered partner is the Robot. If your registered partner (human) got disconnected and was substituted with a Robot, then when the partner reconnects he/she can be re seated.
  10. Can this suggestion be considered and implemented? Before the first bid is made by either pair (other than a PASS may be), at least in tournaments where players register as a pair, the bidding box should go live only after the basic convention box is checked, say Precision or SAYC. It is too frustrating to see 1C, 1D and 2C, 2D opened without this explanation. Often, requests for amplification are met with a deafening silence.
  11. ACBL Scoring software has it in built. At my local club, I have, on occasions, after a tournament, published results in both MP and IMP format.
  12. A simple search for the Host ID using ctrl+f worked for me. I agree, there should be a history available for Directors
  13. Thank you so very much. Few hours after the game, I don't seem to have access to hand records of the participants. However, the tourney history link you have given is absolutely the thing that I needed. Thank you so very much.
  14. Thanks, but hand records seem to be available only to participants of the tournament and not to the Director if he/she did not participate. Strange. I am obviously missing something.
  15. I directed a tournament recently but did not play in it as a participant. Where do I locate the results of the tournament that i conducted?
  16. Hi Diana, When do you expect to start this subscription service please?
  17. Without looking at the hands it is hard to say if you did anything wrong. Right or wrong, just move on. Don't waste time dwelling on such episodes. It is bound to happen again
  18. While platying the captioned tourney just now, the event got stuck in board no.5 midway and would not budge but all other keys/activities on the screen appear functional. Anyone else faced the same problem?
  19. Has the subscription service for this purpose started? Have I missed any announcements in this regard?
  20. Very very valid point for BBO to consider and take action to remedy this anomaly.
  21. For that, BBO has given you ample provision. Set your own table, add the caveats and restrict who sits.
  22. When you go and register for a tournament in the real world, do you get to choose what sytem or convention your opponents play? You better find a defence against whatever they play.
  23. While what you say is true in some real life cases, it certainly is not in all. For instance, in the small town that I play in I have been directing tournaments for over 6 years now without certification. I would like to get a certification, but I have to travel a few hundred miles and do the course and sit for the test. So I read up and keep abreast of requirements and developments and my players seem happy with it! May be, BBO could do that also online, and then award or not award the permission to host pairs tournaments. Just another suggestion!
  24. It would be just perfect if BBO could also add the rights to host pairs events for Prime Members, to go with the the other privileges. Event size could be restricted, if required, to say, 40 pairs.
