  1. EZ peazy - you bid your 2!D. then the fun starts - on the next round depending on who you play, what you hear, & how you feel about "walking the dog". You are worth game, but how about 2!S-3!S - 4!S?

  6. GROW UP, bridge players! The incredible advantage of Mini-Roman 2!D opener (10-12+ HCP) is magnified by P-P-P-2!D, allowing the best contract to be found and preempting them effectively. Can't give that up, esp. considering the frequency. 4th seat ACOL 2- major and 3-bids are clearly best compatible treatment !H
  7. Get real, BBOers. theres noway to describe or elicit that you can legitimately construct. Even if u thought you could, - how would you ever trust the BoltHead's bids? JUST BID 6!H/ 1D and take the practical view to the probable right spot and save time, agony, and ultimate psychological breakdown
  8. Pure Goldilocks Syndrome: 6!H tastes TOO HOT 4!H tastes TOO COOL 5!H feels juuuuuuuuust right (implies !S control, obviously) Your fault, dear partner :(
  9. as long as i am budgeting for 2 trump losers & a !D (or vice-versa), I choose to bet on partners !H and not my !S. EL PASSO :)
  10. I was preparing a psychotic rant that shames all idiots who believe 2C is anything but non-encouraging correction of 1NT. That's because you shouldn't treat the ambuiguous 1C as a real suit in many common situations, like this! (Also like the nebulous 1D Precision opener) Our "tongue-in-cheek" rule is - "If we ever Q-bid Clubs over them, we either GOT clubs - or we DON'T GOT EM (You work it out, pard!)" I guess that leaves 3C jump here as natural inv./force? But wait - I now admit we surely DO need a force - so I repent my hate-sin! And I offer in expiation the 3!C jump-Q here as the artificial force! That's OK - we still have 2 good highways to heaven - choose 3NT or 5C - God bless us, every one! Razorsharp
  11. Sorry, I meant to suggest P - 1S - 2D - 4D Wormwood, not 4NT RKB

  13. Very interesting! I would open a weak 2D N and S responds 2NT, fetching a JOgust rebid of 3S = 6-card D, great weak 2. Then S bids 4C RKB(D) then 6D. Rule: 4C by responder directly or on next round is RKB for 2 or 3 level preemptor's suit. (Over 3-opener I play a modified downward RKB) If 2D is systemically Micro-Polynesian, etc. I PASS then 2D/1S, Now South rebids 4NT RKB(D)
  14. If you open 3C, you should gird your loins and be prepared to REBID 4NT if opps steam & scream into 4S (maybe even 4H?) THAT will surely stun the viewgraph audience!! But for me, I'll put my money on opening 3NT (we play NUMNUTZ, so that = 1-suit 4C OR 4D preempt(6-7 winners at these colors), saving 4C & 4D openers as strongish 4H & 4S pumped-up "preemptz". 3NT still gives you a chance to play 3NT, you gotta admit! :)
