  1. Thanks David However, our 2♣ may contain longer clubs and no major.
  2. Are there any symmetric relay available? We play 2C opening with 5 Card ♣ and 4 card Major. 2♦ is a transfer to ♥ and 2♥ is transfer to ♠ Trying to explore if symmetric relay can be tried.
  3. As a learner of KK Relay (Just started after reading the book) I am not so much worried about alerts and explanation. However I have some basic questions to clear my doubt. I am sure many of you here can help me. Take this example hand ♠AK10xx ♥Jxx ♦xxx ♣xx ♠QJxx ♥- ♦AKJ10 ♣AKJ104 Asker starts DCB after resolving the shape and finding out three controls with partner. Partner stops at first step and again stops at first step in response to the second ask. How can asker find out now, whether ♠ AK is missing or not?
  4. Is it legal to play 2♦️ Response over 1M opening as non forcing? The question is in Precision context. As 2♣️ can be played as GF relay, on any GF hand, 2♦️ or 2❤️ over 1♠️ can be played non forcing or semi forcing (8-11 HCP)
  5. Anyone heard about something like Special RKC response where trump Ace is considered 1.5 key cards and trump K is considered 0.5 keycard? Seems to be interesting!
  6. How do you deal with 11-13 0=5=4=4 hands?
  7. Thanks all for really valuable suggestions. I really appreciate, and also fully agree with you all. Just to let you know, I was playing with someone with whom we didn’t have any prior agreement on 4-4-4-1 hands or any asking bids etc. so the bidding went 1♣️-1NT-2♦️-2♥️-4♥️ The best I could do was to use kickback (we had agreed on that)
  8. I had the following hand last night ♠️- QJxx ♥️- Jxxx ♦️- x ♣️ - AKQx Partner opened 1♣️ Precision and ❤️ Was agreed as trumps. I initiated 4♠️ Kickback 4♠️-4NT (0/3) 5♣️- 5♦️(Trump Q + ♦️K) Now I can’t be sure if partner has ♠️K and can’t find it without committing to 6 level. May be ♠️AK is missing Any suggestions? Of course there are other asking bids can be employed to get a much better result, but the point here is on Kickback only
  9. What is the response if responder has a 8-10 hand with no 4 cards major?
  10. You may try Jack Bridge. However the best is Bridge Baron (version 29 now). You can configure your Precision system to your liking. Sadly, there is no way you can develop your own sequences, let’s say asking bids, for example.
  11. Can we get a few examples of how after 1♣-1♥/♠-1NT auction, the control bidder moves on? You mentioned something about "Reverse Asking Bids" or "Omega Bids" a long time ago. Kindly elaborate with some examples.
  12. I have somewhere your old notes I would like to learn more about your minimum relay method and the modified SAB-3. CAB for responder’s suit and not TAB? I am finding it interesting
  13. Since ages, There is almost no posts on this exotic subject. Has it died now? I still find the idea extremely exciting but sadly do not see much interests and popularity among all levels of bridge players
  14. According to your post 1♦-1♥-2♣ is 5-4 in diamonds and clubs. It can not be 4-5 in diamonds and clubs at the same time
  15. I have been playing Wei Precision for more than three decades now. With some partners I am playing those asking bids also, however only Alpha,Beta,Gamma and sometimes epsilon (rarely it is employed). I am following precision players in BBO and also watching top world class players in Vu Grapgh but seldom I find players using asking bids. Are asking bids dead? Have we devised better and more efficient systems around transfer/symmetric/shape relays? I really want to know. As of now I think asking bids are wonderful tools, unless someone proves otherwise. You are talking about some new approach which I am getting interested in. Presently we play 1C-1M-1NT as Beta asking. In your method 1NT hands over the captaincy, or so it seems. It can be a good idea particularly if you don't have support to your partner's suit. I can give up this low level beta if I see there are better ways to continue after 1c and a positive response
  16. Interesting Do you have a complete write up explaining how the control partner and blind partner carry on? Also, how the asking bids are used? I would love to play this
  17. Thanks for all the inputs. I will prefer to keep it simple after 1♦-2♦ or 1♦-2♣ auction. The way most of the players play the inverted minors. The real 1♦ opening is not that bad at all. The knowledge that partner has at least 4 card in ♦ helps a lot. We play 13-15 NT and for 12 HCP, we bid 1♦ with 4 card and 1NT without 4 card. The 11 HCP hands without ♦ are passed. Nothing is lost really
  18. I play 1♦opening in classical Precision way, 11-15 HCP and 4+ Card ♦. 1NT is 13-15 balanced. I do not wish to change this, but want to know if there is a sophisticated follow up is available. Particularly when responder bids 2♣, or 2♦ showing 11+ HCP and denying 4 card major. the minor suit shown promises 4 card. The classical responses of precision are not adequate when partner has a very good hand, close to slam type.
  19. I have now gone through your notes. It was great, and really a big THANK YOU Although I am sure that there must be some logic behind the chosen order of steps in side suit asking bids as A,Q,K and not in natural sequence (AKQ or QKA) I didn't quite understand it. Also when you have no honor in a side suit, partner's response will leave you in dark (for example Q or AK?) Also, when you use RKC in this sequence, do you have any method for Exclusion RKC?
  20. Looks very neat indeed. Can you let me have your full method pl? Like how would you reply to 3♥ QP ask? Also, reply to 4NT ♦ ask is not fully understood. 5♣ would have showed no honor, so 5♦ should be Q or AK, 5♥ should be K or AQ and 5♠ should be A or KQ I will wait for your response
  21. Thanks for such a prompt reply. OK, that is clear. However, do you find out exact controls? I mean exact controls like 0-1/2/3/4/5/6/7 .... Like that If we try to find the exact number of controls, by strep responses for example, the bidding may reach very high level even before a scan is started. Please educate me on this subject a little more Thanks
  22. I have been following posts on Spiral Scan, DCB, QP, CP et all. Not yet sure whether I should fancy trying some of these. I have recently come accross this hand [hv=pc=n&s=sq96h7daqj75cakq8&n=sa32ht32dktcjt976]133|200|South opens 1C Precision[/hv] Lets assume you have found out the distribution, and strength of your partner by whatever relay method you use and whatever QP/CP you play. All I need to know is whether my Partner has the !DK and !SA or not. I have not come accross a scanning method which clearly places !SA (and NOT THE !SK) with my partner. Incidentally, !DK is easy to place as I have the other honors. May be I have not understood the finer points od Spiral Scan as yet. Some of you may help me here.
  23. Thanks all!!!!! I really appreciate the efforts that you all have put to clear my confusion. I have now a fair idea as to what I we should do in such a situation. It is true that we did not have an agreement whether to play support double at 3 level. Also, we did not have any agreement as to whether an overcaller is supposed to make a support double or not. Now my partner and I will be able to have a solid agreement based on what all of you have suggested Once again, a big Thank You all
