  1. Huh?? Normally you write "- 12" for 12 or fewer and "12 - " for 12 or more. Is this a special Bridge convention you use?
  2. After this problem I have been eager to check what the Robot means with the bid, but still got lured!! It has happened more than once that the Robot claims points, which it does not have. Yesterday for instance I had a hand of 23p and when the Robot bid 3H after a while I checked what it meant and I could read 12 - total, so I raised to 6H. However when the Robot showed its cards it had 3p. Have I misunderstood something? When I count points I give 4,3,2,1 for A,K,Q,Kn and 3,2,1 for 0,1,2 card in a suit. /Jan
  3. In Robot Duplicate competitions, the Robot in pair with the human player, plays the hand, if it has got the bid. I think it would be better if the human player always played the hand, independent on which of the two that got the bid. I think the human player should have as much influence as possible on the game, since it is the human players that compete, not the Robots!
  4. I would also prefer if the played cards were shown in front of each player, instead of merging them in the middle. Easier to see who played what.
  5. I have already twice happened to mix my partners bid with the competitors, meaning that I have then given a ridiculous bid as answer. This had not happened if the bids were shown in front of each player, as is down when you play manually at a table. Would it be hard to change this? If some others prefer the way the bids are shown today, it is fine with me if you show the bids in both ways.
  6. I understand that it is a big effort to write new software, especially if you did not make it configurable from the beginning, but please consider it, at least in the long term! By the way, why didn't you choose a simpler system to start with, when you created the software for the first time? If the Robot bidding system is "forced" on every one on BBO, I think it should be a common system, that most players are used to, not a complex one only suited for a few. Of course the best had been if the players were able to select system. Is it really so that most players on BBO are confortable with the system used by the Robots today? If so, I rest my case. I understand that the Robot system used today is powerful (probably the most powerful Bridge playing software avaiable), but in most cases a simpler system works good enough. I am afraid that if I make an effort to learn the Robot system, I will then mess things up when I play outside BBO with human partners, where we are using a simpler system with natural bidding, except for Blackwood, Gerber, Stayman and 2♣.
  7. It would be VERY nice if you were able to select what bidding system your Robot partner should use in a tournament. I do not at all feel confortable with the system used today, which I think is too complicated for my playing strength. As a first step it would be good if you had a simple natural bidding system to select, if you were not satified with the system used today. The next step would be to force the Robot to use my convention card.

E: P S: 2NT Invitation to 3NT W: P N: 3♥ Huh?? What is this?? E: P S: 4♥ Expected 4 cards and 10-12 p W: P N: 5♠ Why not 4♠? Have S shown 20-p with his bidding? P, P, P This robot bidding seems strange to me. Have I fooled the robot in some way? BR /Jan
