  1. South's 1♣ opener is the problem. Almost every expert on the planet advises a 1♦ opener, avoiding the inevitable problem later on in the bidding. It's a small lie, but it HAS to be done. After the reverse, North's desire for game is sound.
  2. It was an amazing day of Bridge today, as I picked up the most stunning hand I have ever received. [hv=pc=n&s=sakqjt5haqjtdckq5&d=e&v=0&b=14&a=p]133|200[/hv] Assuming the opponents can't get a (ridiculous) early ruff or someone else has 5+ spades, this hand is easily cold for 10 tricks. But this is IMPS, and missing a slam would be awful. How would you reach the slam (if it's good) and avoid it (if it's bad)?
