Why can't we see the last card played. All we get is "flash" the final score.

I have just updated the BBO app for iPad. Playing he cards is so slow it's like watching paint dry. Every players cards advance in sacaded incriminates taking about 2 seconds each to reach the center of the table. I tried reinstalling the app and resetting the iPad with no success. ????
