  1. I've hardly ever seen it play that fast in a tourney, but in the MBC hands frequently go so quickly you can't see what's happening. use web client, the web client play much faster than the windows client.
  2. Wow really?? Can my Robo's get some lessons from yours!? Seriously, they are not only slower (which I am gathering may be my connection speed) but Robo-P will always manage to overbid one trick. If it happens to find a correct bid, finds a way to lose a trick. My last hand the bidding went something like: 1!s P 2!h P, 3!c P 3!h P, 4!d P 4!h P, P(I give up) P I had a big hand for anything but my heart void. P reveals his hand, 5 hearts with 10 high & the rest under 8. Lol & cry . . . Robot play faster in almost all circumstances. The fastest i see a robot declare a hand is <5 seconds. They tend to play slower if the contract is low since there is almost many possibility. But once you reach a contract with only 1 line of play or with all cashing tricks, Gib does that with blazing speed.
  3. Seldom claim unless all the tricks are tops or the opps are people I know. When you play with REAL experts/advanced/intermediates, they prob can count tricks. No such luck for most BBO "experts" thou.
  4. One thing I notice about robot race is that GIB plays much faster in the web client when it is declaring, and somewhat have slower reaction time when I am declaring . However in the windows client, the opposite seems true, defence seems more responsive to my clicks while the gib takes only to declare. So what i do having a chioce of 2 contracts if I am doing the web I let GIB declare and client, I declare.
  5. I am only asking because I mainly play robot reward in BBO nowadays. It get a bit tedious and slow to count every hand especially with every hand having more than 10 points sometimes up to 30. In live bridge I normally got enough time to count the hand a few times before my opponents start bidding. Was thinking of building a version that give me HCP and losing trick count within this 2 months if I got time.
  6. I am thinking of writing an external program to either parse the input to the web or windows client to count the HCPs in my hand as I figure I spent too much time counting and recounting my HCP on each hand. I figured that it might involve sniffing packets or something similar so I feel I should ask first. Note that I haven't decide what method I am going to try at the moment. Lastly, I suggest having this inbuilt so I don't have to write it <_<.
  7. Well I understand that the GIB somehow based on history will open 4th seat with 10 points sometimes. But is the choice of bid based on history too? I have the honor of GIB opening 1♦ on this hand a few days back at 4th seat all non vul. [hv=s=sqxhakxxxdjxxxcxx]133|100|[/hv] Also have GIB play for finnese on a 9 card fit and drop on 8 card fit on at least 5 hands yesterday.
  8. I dont understand some of the description of the bids. What exactly does 8421 HCP in ♠ means?
  9. Tried change the host to altport.bridgebase.com change the port to 80. Unable to log in stuck at logging in. please wait. The old one I get get in at least to the loading of players and sometimes tables Logged into the web client fine, although I prefer the windows version which I have been using for 5 years with no problems till now .
  10. I am stuck at the Loading Player List. Please wait. For like 2 days already. The symptoms is that the player list will load very fast by 200s till 4800 or so then stopped. Occasionally(maybe once in 20 retries) it managed to load till 7000+ players and actually complete the loading of players and proceed to get stuck at the loading tables part.
  11. Someone need to change the logic of the robot to not open with any balanced or semi balanced hand in 4th seat with less than 12 HCP. Some how my bot open on a 4-3-3-3 on 8 points
  12. I just bid 6 regardless, I never figured 5 of a major out
  13. It will depends on random or best hand. For best hand I will play as fast as possible. For random hands it is totally different. For random hands , sometimes even a small slam is enough to win the race if opps are unlucky enough. Generally , I will play till somehow i reach about 1000 points or more and stop playing immediately if opps have a vul game/slam/grandslam. This ensure that you will most of the time finish in the money. A annoyance I find is that GIB will some times think for very long 30 secs or so on a simple decision of playing for 3 small which make me want to slam the keyboard
