They've just presented you with a losing option which isn't there if they don't make this ridiculous spade switch. I think I'd have played a diamond.

For those of us playing 2♦ as Baron or H, none of these apply. Partner has shown any min with H so now I can ask for a second suit with 3♣, retransfer, set the suit and slam try with 3♥, splinter, or signoff in 3NT or 4♥. Of course with this hand it seems sensible to retransfer and offer a choice with 3NT.

Unlikely to beat this if declarer can get the clubs going. So I'll play partner for Axx clubs and lead a club before the 8S is established.

I rather keep West in range and play for Kxxxxxx,KQ,Jx,xx. Need to cash the diamond.
