I'm sorry if this has been already discussed, but I just don't have the time to follow these boards. Well, even mentioning this board is a little overweight, I'd like to play, but.... err. ugh... err. I'd like to play  Anyway, when I log on and then leave my desktop or my laptop around, there are always dozens of so called friends, that log in while I'm away. Now, I'd like to have a button where I can dismiss all these logons with one click. Not having to click around 100 times just to get the popups away. This shouldn't be a bir programming task. At least not, if it is a remarkable problem. As long as I have these time related problems, I won't be around to remark about this. But I hope to have more time to spend on BBO in the near future...... and.... Well, you know. ;) abe

Could someone please explain me, how I would find in the help files and documentation the explanation for the number in the player profiles (for example I have a 2. Some others have 4, some have a 'J'). I have browsed the help files thru a few times, but haven't found any explanation for these. :) Ah yes, nice to be back playing again, had some 8-9 months no time at all to play in BBO  abe

Another sub quick suggestion
anssibragge replied to anssibragge's topic in Suggestions for the Software
Sorry, that should of course be "..has made us all a favor...". :D abe -
When someone accepts an invitation to sub in a tournament, the other in a playing table should get an automated message: "abragge has helped us all by accepting to sub to a running tournament". To conter against all of those who were enlisted in a tournament, but don't tell their table countraries about that.. abe

Vugraph "technical" (?!?!?) comments
anssibragge replied to Chamaco's topic in General BBO Discussion
I'm watching currently Bulgaria - Poland on the BBO, and we have 3 active commentators; Dinos1, Szalay and Barnets (tho he's not that active). None of the have +++ in the profile. We do have one yellow in the room, I messaged him if he'd be kind to bring this to the commentators, but as usual, nothing has happened in the last 10 mins. Well, I, as a yellow might be 10 minutes away fetching a beer and sending a message to the multimedia network... :D Anyway. Have the commentators been "qualified" somehow in the games, "invited" or just "good we'd have you around this time"? Can any yellow comment as an commentator? Or any Star player? abe -
Cascade, sorry, but you have not had +++ in your profile. I've tried to comment something to you a couple of times.. abe

Please, do not credit Chamaco with partly offensive material that I posted. He did not talk about the France-Italian match, it was me. abe -
I'm watching the women's German-Austria at the moment in the open room. We have a lot of commentators, but NONE of them has the +++ in the profile :) An american lady player has been calling the players HIM, HE, HIS etc all the time. I thought american, especially female american would be very PC about this stuff... :D I'd have made a commentator aware of this, but...... no +++ abe

I might be drunk rigth now - which I would of course forever deny. But in the ex company I was a clear #1 finding bugs and end-user disabilities. 182 bug reports in a half a year after 4 years of product development. Somehow I don't feel excited about reporting here software related issues  abe

Suddenly, being kicked out of some tournaments w/out a reason... And in addition somehow just being alone out there. Not being kicked out or forcing myself to restart my desktop not to mention my computer. But how should I be aware of in which all tournaments I still am registered as a sub? Well, I'm sure this'll all be thought of in the next version  abe

So, in a toourney hosted by you, a friendly table shouldn't be able to resolve a situation betwen themselves without you AND the software making decisions about the whole situation? abe

Sometimes one does claims giving opponents a trick. Because of doing something wrong earlier. Because of being polite. Let's not make this impossible. abe

...and please, not to nerve the whole world, not all of the commentators were that what I wrote. But 2 of them were. Sorry to say that loud, but it simply was so. abe -

A bit irritating is, that we can't comment to the commentators that they are plain wrong. In the match france against someone else, might well have been italy, I got...err... nerved of the commentators of having no idea of bridge nor the real world. Might be my opinion, I am not world class, but hey, we should be able to somehow give live feedback. As we can't message the commentators direct... abe -
Sorry, it's of course http://www.bragge.org/bridge/BBO/doing-ok.doc abe

I was subbed in a pairs tournament. Playing the second board then, suddenly in 13th trick everything vanishes and I get a message "You have been replaced". This was my 2nd board already, not the first in this subbed tournament. Here's a screenshot how it looks like to me: http://www.bragge.org/bridge/BBO/doing-ok.do So, what happened? Original guy got back? My partner did not like my safety play to get 4 major +1 a top? abe

I was cleaning my spam folder.. 99.99% of stuff going to "Sure" folder after SpamBayes.evaluation and those lucky 10 mails experiencing the happy revival of coming back in my inbox, One email caught my eye especially. Fred Gitelman sending me email about viagra or whatever. Sigh... It was a spam of some whatever bot. It just caught my eye. No fingers pointing here. Just thought of saying out loud that I ******* hate all spammers and would be very happy to take them all behind a sauna and shooting them in the neck. abe

Version 3.7.6 Language indipendent
anssibragge replied to mink's topic in Suggestions for the Software
My computer, WinXP home has always been german. I did not get any message about the language situation nor do I find a place to change the language for any other. And I did use the upgrade .exe for 3.7.6. I did not get upgraded? (And I do rather play in english  abe -
can one believe this? as I clicked the "post new topic", I was forced to join a table in a running indy tournament.. well, I'll go playing.. in the middle of a board, 4th trick going. abe

Hello all, I might be a pain in the ass again, but.... It should really be shown to the subs how many subs there are (who the subs are is not that important, but would be nice). Even before registering as a sub would be nice. And what did I say about the audio bell when asked for a sub position? Happened again about 4.2 mins earlier. I know the development team has their own priorities. I, as an expert software development project leader, can't possibly know the priorities. But I'd still say, this would be a visible feature liked by us, people giving some of their time to make tournaments more beloved... abe, no calls for me during the writing this PS. now that my former employee decided to cut 80% of the staff, I might well have time to translate the software to finnish the same

Well, it was down. At least we started our tournament again  abe

It was in the tournament rules that they, who can't get themselves a sub, get blacklisted. Very harsh to write such in the rules. abe
-
BTW, another possibility to enhance the play would be the possibility for the table to change sides to become the declarer if the declarer has been found link dead. abe

My favorite would be swiss/dane survivor pairs, mp/imp does not make that much difference. Perhaps rather mp. Also, not that important about the pairs, could also be indy. The weight here is on survivor and swiss/dane and immediate results. And of course otherwise, my favorite tourneys are the ones my team, partnership or humbleness wins  abe
