  1. I and MartinsLAT would like to have an another shot. :)
  2. Looks very interesting. How do you differ between 5M4m and 4M5m? Do you use second round transfers similar to ETM scheme?
  3. 1NT-2C;3C - 3D should be a puppet to 3H, I don't think you should transfer to weak hand. Your idea is very nice. I guess the easier bidding outweighs stopping in 2H, so thank you. :). After looking at it I realized that there is no way to show 4S and SO in 1NT-2C-2D. I think that I could take out the 5H COG and put it in 1NT-3D and have SO with 4S in that place. Oppener wouldn't have to show 4S when responder is not interested in that and on 1NT-3D opener will only have to bid 3NT if doubleton H and accepting the INV, everything else is the same(responder rebids 3NT if able).
  4. Pros: Conceals 4COM of opener if not needed Lets to rightside contracts which wouldn't be possible to rightside with transfers 1NT - 2M is to play Can stop in 2M in case of min opener and 5C INV Solves the problem of 1NT - 2C - 2S - 2NT with 5H in usual 2-way Stayman Built in relay Cons: More chances for opponents to double for lead, although they should fear penalty a little bit. A bit harder competitive bidding. No classical garbage stayman. Cannot relay full shape sometimes. 1NT - 2C(4S INV, 5M INV,4(5)-4(5) M INV, 5+S ST, C INV, 5M COG) 2D - no 4S ........2H - INV 5 or 4 if 4-4M, mostly 5,if after raise partner bids 3NT, it was 4. 4-2 should be very rare, but 2NT was a bad contract there too. ........2S - INV 5 ........2NT - bal INV ........3C - INV w/ C ........3D - 5S 4D ........3H - 5S 4C ........3S - 5S COG ........3NT - 5H COG ........4CDH - splinter, 6+S ........4S - bal, many spades, ST 2H - 4S min ........P - INV W/H ........2S to play ........2NT - S fit, asking for more(the same as relay when opener has shown hearts) ........3C - INV w/C ........3D - 5S 4C with shortage ........3H - 5S 4D with shortage ........3S INC ........3NT - COG W/5H 2S - 4S S max ........the same as 1NT-2C-2H 2NT - Both M max ........3C SO ........3M chooses major, asks cue 3C - both M min ........3M chooses major, asks cue 1NT - 2D(4H INV, 5+H ST, 4H GF, both M GF, anything that wants to relay the shape, C ST) 2H - no 4H ........2S ask ................2N denies spades, 3C asks further, 3D=5-5M GF, 3H, 3S - 5-4M GF ................................3D - 44m, 3H asks for doubleton ................................3H - 5C3D32 ................................3S - 5C332D ................................3NT - 5D332 ................3C 4 spades, 4 diamonds, 3D asks doubleton ................3D 4 spades, 4 clubs, 3H asks doubleton ................3H 4333 max ................3S 5332 spades ................3N 4333 min ........2NT INV ........3C - ST 6+C ........3D - 5H 4D ST ........3H - 5H 4C ST ........3S4C4D - splinter with 6+ H ........3NT to play ........4H no shortness, 6+H, ST 2S - 4H no 4S ........2N asks ................3C - 4 H, 4 diamonds ................3D - 4 H, 4 clubs ................3H - 4333 max ................3S - 5 spades ................3N - 4333 min 2NT - both M ........3C - ST w/ C ........3D sets H as trump ........3H INV w/ 4 hearts 3S sets S as trump 1NT - 2M to play 1NT - 2NT - transfer to D, 3C min, 3D max 1NT - 3C weak with C, 6+ 1NT - 3D - 6+M INV 1NT - 3M - splinter in other M, 1345, 0355 1NT - 3NT to play 1NT - 4C - gerber 1NT - 4D/4H - Texas 1NT - 4S - both m Improvements, suggestions and opinions welcome. :)
  5. I and martinslat would like to play if there is a place.:)
  6. Yeah, I see the point, could actually do that. Well, we usually pass with 4 card support and even 5-7 after 1C-1D-1M.
  7. We bid 3+c M as 1M with weak NT hands.
  8. We have a problem with 1C-1D(0-6or13+)-2x It's 5+,17-20. After that, we can't think of a response scheme which could show if responder has weak or strong hand, and would allow to go to slam if strong.
  9. 5314 hands are opened with 2H or 2D, so are 5440 with five clubs. :) My partner suggested me to play 2D as any major 2nd level pre-empt or 17-18 bal, 2H as three suiter and 2S as some pre-empt like Spades + Minor.
  10. Maybe I can use 2H as three suiter instead of hearts pre-empt?
  11. Are there any tools for calculating those frequencies? Well, I just prefer playing Swedish Club based systems, it's more fun for me, and I'm not kind of happy with Swan. I think it's not hard to sort out weak bal from strong unbal after 1♣ opening, they are pretty different. Originally I played 11-13/17+any 1 C and 14-16 NT, BTW.
  12. Any ideas how to include NT bids in bids other than 1♣, while still maintaining normal ranges and 2-way club? :)
  13. My Swedish Club openings are : 1♣ - 11-14bal or 17+unbal or 21+any 1♦- 4+, unbal,11-16 1♥/♠ - 5+, 11-16 1NT - 15-18,may be 4441 2♣- 6+ or 5+4M, 11-16 2♦- three suiter with short diamonds, 11-16 2♥/2♠ - weak, 6+, 6-10 2NT - 19-20 Are the wide NT openings ok if it helps making 1♣ more resistant to preempts?
  14. well, you're ain't going to help with that statement.
  15. A question. 1♣(11-13 bal or 16 + unbal or 17+ any)-1♦(0-7 or 13+)-1♥(11-13 bal) 1♠ (to 1NT) 2♦(to 2S) 2♥ (to 3C) - transfers, weak 1NT - transfer to diamonds 2♣ - Stayman 2♠ 3♣ 3♦ 3♥ - 5+, 13+HCP Or just give transfers with weak and strong hands and then continue bidding with strong hand?
  16. Well, I thought about opening positive 1♦ with 14 when flat, because then 1D opener knows, that he has GF all the time with 1C opener. Then he can always overcall or double to show that he has 13/14+ with GF. If 1C opener has 16+ points and he passed, he can now try to explore slam. That way, the only contract we can miss if oppoents do a high overcall is when weak 1D responder has enough points for a game with 1C opener, and well, that's the problem with precision too. My version - 1♣-1♦ 1♥ – 11-13 HCP 1♠ – 20+ HCP, 1NT – 17-19 HCP; balanced, system on 2 any suit - 16 - 19 HCP, 5+ 1♣-1♦-1♥ 1♠ – GF, auto 1NT, responder bids he's suit. 1NT – Stayman 2♣♦♥♠ - transfer to the next suit, 5+ in that suit, 6+ for clubs. 1♣-1♦-1♠ 1NT – 0-4HCP 2 any suit – 5-7HCP or 13+HCP, GF
  17. Any ideas for a response scheme after 1C-1D, where 1D is 0-7 or 13+HCP and 1C is 11-13HCP, balanced or 16+?
  18. Thank you for your support. :) I can give up on 8-9 balanced and make the opening higher, you have some really good arguments against that.
  19. 1C opening is to stop opponents from blocking it, becouse they can block themselves, if we have the weak opening. 2NT is GF for 8-9, and Slam Try for 15+
  20. Responses to 1♣: 1♦ – 0-9 HCP; any 1♥♠– 10-15 HCP; 5+ 1NT – 10-15 HCP; balanced 2♣♦ – 10-15 HCP; 5+, unbalanced 2♥♠ – 6-9HCP; 6+ 2NT – 16+HCP; any Responses to 1♣ - 1 ♦ 1♥ – 8-9 HCP; balanced 1♠ – 15-19 HCP; any 1NT – 15-17HCP, balanced 2♣♦♥♠ - 20+HCP, 5+, asks for support Responses to 1♣ - positive answer. NT – 8-9 HCP; 15-17; 20-21; etc. Raise – 8-9 HCP, fit. (with jump – 15+ HCP) Any other suit – 15+ HCP; 5+ , asks for support. Responses to 1♣ - 1NT 2♣ – Stayman ; a)15+HCP, b)8-9 HCP, both majors 4-4 2♦ ♥ ♠, 3♣ –15+HCP; 5+ 2NT – 15+ HCP; balanced
  21. Yeah, i worried about that too. That opening is mainly for pre-empting the opponents. All responder's suit's in level 2 are pretty weak, 1NT shows 11+, after that, i can show if I have 5+diamonds or a hand without 5+suit.
  22. Any comments or tips on this system? 1♣ - 15+HCP or 8-9HCP, balanced 1♦ - 10-14 HCP, 5+♥ 1♥ - 10-14 HCP, 5+ ♠ 1♠ - 10-14 HCP, 2+ ♦ 1NT - 12-14 HCP, balanced 2C - 10-14 HCP, 5+ ♣ 2D - 10-14 HCP, any three-suited hand with short ♦ 2H - 5-9 HCP, 5+ ♥ 2S - 5-9 HCP, 5+ ♠ 2NT - 5-9 HCP, 5-5 minors 2H and 2S pre-empts are done sanely, shitty hands with 10 HCP can be opened with 1C.
