  1. 5D, as if I bid 3D, it will probably go 3H - p - 4h or p p 3H and I'll have the same issue again 5D x -1/-2 is still good against 4h =
  2. Penalty t/o or "negative" would be direct 1D-2C-X But I think this is real rare, and only in pairs
  3. The german bridge associations has some nice word templates Go to their home page and search for "Konventionskarte" Hopefully the same as http://www.bridge-verband.de/web/search?s=Konventionskarte
  4. As there are no UI flowing around, you are free to do what you want the real question is: "What can you do?" 2 quick losers in D, p is presomably void in H with a solid black 2 suiter
  5. We play it as "partner asks" -> "I answer honestly" So here definitely a 4D cue bid, a real issue comes up if I must advance over the 4M border with a extremly marginal hand
  6. 2C describe your hand worst case p - 2d - p or p p X (normally negative) with clubs in lho :(
  7. what can you win? someone has the S and the hcp so if you open, you open for o to make or if 3C is passed out to go down -> pass
  8. 2nt (if it is 10-11) is out of question My preferences in descending order 2h if it asks for a stop 2d if it is forcing 3nt otherwise
  9. Urgh flat, no source of tricks -> pass shows that you should open all opening hands :)
  10. 2S now should be a real ♠ suit (5+), exposing a possible psyche, p can decide to go for I would see thhis as a bit weak for 3S, as the ♥ Q is worthless, the ♣ honors dubious in pairs a clear cut 2S, as even -1 may be good in teams it's a gamble, I do not see chances for game but a part score swing hurts too, 2S without enthusiasm
  11. You play 11-14 NT, Lebensol is available Pairs,red-red Hand J 9 4 K 8 7 10 A 10 7 5 4 2 Bidding: 1 NT - p - ?? I decided to pass, I can show via 2C - 2M - 3C a poor club hand, but was greedy for 1NT +?? made - 2S (5 card spade + 4 card minor) - p - p back to you Now you can bid 2NT (lebensol) and pass 3C (forced) from p or let them play in 2S Ideas ? (with reasons please) needless to say, I bid 2NT, 3D from o -> made in an 4 - 5 fit :(
  12. 3♦, perhaps p has extras (do not hang p, when he keeps the auction alive) 3M should normally show a 4 card suit, exept with something like xxx xxx xx xxxxx
  13. in first seat 1S, much too strong for 3S in 3rd seat, 3S to annoy o
  14. I see 6NT "to play", ok the 3S does not deny the S ace, but p has plenty of alternatives to look for a grand I expect him for a solid D suit as source of tricks with no S stopper (but why did o not raise S, if p is very short? )
  15. Team: 4♥ (ok, heavy, I agree) Pairs: 3♥
  16. D in pairs, I need the 200 to beat 120 for 2nt= If they can make 4♣ then this ias a plain zero anyway at imps, D also, but with a bit of more uneasiness
  17. on 4th seat, I pass, as I cannot really win, as p cannot have the hand he shows If I MUST open the hand, I would open 3♣, but probably I exchange a "0" to a -50/100
  18. After I wrote this, I was thinking that the best would be an open chat message with something like "o: may I explain this to p?" and then after a yes/no act accordingly, o were allready informed or is this allready an UI to p?
  19. More an issue how should I behave .... You sit at a table, unknown p, read his card as sayc, tell him that this is ok, play starts Bidding goes 1♥ - 4♣ (alerted as splinter, this IS std in sayc, or?) and p starts to ask, "cue bid ?" How should I behave? Is there a standard behaviour page some where? Different in tournaments/bridge club? This is not a question when playing with a std. tournament p, as we would have a full convention card in this scenario, only what to do on a random table (similar question was 1NT - 2♥ Transfer?)
  20. 2♥ all your cards seem to be usefull to p, your ♦ are tricks, probably you will play 4♠ 2♠ only if you are desperately fishing for a top in pairs (you assume nothind is making)
  21. 1S 4-4+ in the black suits, solid opening bid X takeout 1NT 16 (brrrrrr, with 10+9's)-20 + H stopper
  22. I would lead a H, ok this may give a free finesse and it looks as a 6/2, 5-2 H fit for o, so this may blow a trump trick Leading S is out of question and Clubs may also be expensive. i think it's the least of all evils
  23. I think the only solution is to call a TD to have this sorted out. After pulling a card, or even more after a comment like "you don't HAVE to pull the double", I do not see another solution If this is a "friendly beginner play", TD will explain this, adjust the board and everything is done. In a real tournament there will be probably procedural penalties
  24. 1S, fulfills easily the rule of 18, nearly all cards are working
