  1. I have one further suggestion (maybe along the lines of planned additions). Currently, say you start a table, whether you are looking for a partner or opponents, you scroll through your friends list and ask if they would like to play. Or, you have the option of asking the Lobby. I suggest a combination: ask idle-friends-in-lobby-or-kibbing.
  2. I would just like to add my (quiet) voice to the list of objectors to the Friend/Follower list. I'm not a touchy person; but I also don't see the gain to the public information. I actually usually "ask" if I can call someone a friend (hence mutual), but sometimes I forget. An alternative, which I would find actually useful: Just have separate options of "friend" and "follow" (instead of the current friend OR follow). This way, I can separate out those Stars (they're usually stars), who I might like to kibitz if they're on, from people I can ask for a friendly game etc. To repeat, my proposal is: Bring back the "old" friend option -- you just mark someone if you like them for whatever reason. They don't know you've marked them. Bring in a new "follow" system. It's optional if the person being followed knows who's following them. If you want that public, it's not a big deal. The only problem, as I see it, someone has you as a friend, and now KNOWS you don't reciprocate (or vice versa).
  3. The precise auction i forget, but along these lines. I managed to play in 2h redbled making 4 for 1670 (or thereabouts, a numberi have never obtained in real life). The auction was approximately, where i made a vuln 1h overcall (one of my better hands!), and my gib partner kindly made a simple raise competitively. Gib Me Gib Gib (1d) 1h (1s) 2h (p) p. (dbl) redbl all passed out. It looks to me that in a bid-and-raise situation the double was takeout. (as a side remark, i have noticed that gib very rarely makes pendoubles, and likes taking out my pen doubles). Opener gib had a min hand, it seems quite a position to pass out 2h redoubled.
  4. That does not answer why partner bid 3h. I am happy for gib to assume my 3d is "strong" if it likes (it doesnot mean that, especially if 3c were strong) ... In which case gib should raise my diamonds to whatever level itjudges correct. Myquibble is the 3h bid.
  5. No way to use report function, since am testing out the new ipad play feature. My gib p passes in first seat white on white, and my righty gib opens a club I overcall 1s with Q9842 J93 AQ752 void And see my left gib raises his partner to 3c, passed to me. I balance again with 3d, corrected to 3h by my gib partner (who has passed twice already) with ... T6 Q764 KT984 76 This to me is very mysterious.
  6. I have android phone and an ipad 2. Interface. No problems with the ipad. Cards seem big enough to click easily. Menu options easy to access. I particularly like the recall hands feature. For the watch bridge option. Perhaps have a find person option. I imagine when we get to log in as regular users ourfriends will show up anyways. Presumably live play is in the works. Hopefully this will include bidding table option. Also, as other people have suggested, perhaps have an option when u leave the app for the app to remain connected to the web (maybe with options for maximum timeout). I noticed that my game has reset while writing this forum response. Much more important for phone app. I always tell "rushers" on bbo thatbridge is not a fast game. But the app bridge is really fast (and thus the robots play and defend a very poor level). I do think the gibs should attempt to know really basic bridge. I opened 1d followed by a spade overcall by LH gib. My gib partner chose to bid 2c with x kq987 qx qxxxx. I guess people would be willing to pay for a "quality" gib for those who do not want to be on 3g connection while mobile.
  7. As I was (am) trying to watch both tables of USA1v2, I had problems viewing both matches at the same time. There is a bug with bridgebaseonline.com/mobile. You can do the following: 1) have 2 accounts. Unfortunately, if you log on in one, the other one will log itself out. 2) You can get around this by using (e.g.) google chrome for 1 account, and mozilla for another. If this is considered a bug, that's ok. But don't fix it while the game is going on please!
  8. Yes, I am curious about this too. It is possible to just log in using regular internet to the usual php client. This is just about good enough to kibitz, but the many buttons make playing nigh-impossible. Also, curiously the php client does not allow you to move about the screen -- only to enlarge/reduce-size from the center. Here is maybe a basic suggestion for any new software: When you need to play a card, have 4 suit buttons available, and when you click one, then the relevant cards become options. And ask for confirmation to prevent misclicks [probably allow to disable this feature]. There is a related forum post about tablet-software. I would imagine a zoom feature [e.g. like in Apple software's main-menu icons] would be essential.
