  1. NO i find it very interesting, i never knew how to bid on the high levels to reach a slam , i'd like to learn from other opinions than open a book because i"m very lazy . I'm really interested to know the answer to my questions posted before.
  2. And if u invite with 5♥ having x trump, what is the meaning of 5cl/5d/4sp? And how do u act when u have some heart support and need a cue? let's say spade? What are your agreements? Added: how will decide your partner to pass/ not pass 5h?
  3. Man but your partner may have Kx spade and u go down 6H what 's the problem with u all? Did i misread it and the opening was 1CL? Wow!!
  4. Sir, When my partner bid a game red vs white and i have 6 trics in my own hand i don't care of playing on the level 5. My only problem is to count losers, and if there are 2 then we will play it on the level 5. Of course i don't know a method to ask the shortness spade or the control ( Kx or Ax) in that special case. That's why im still waiting for our dear friend mrAce to elucidate that question and let us take advantage of his fascinating and definitely worth knowing.
  5. Playing teams on bbo, i have seen many times turkish players bidding with that and making the contract. Just for curiosity., red vs white , imps, will u pass so "easy"? I agree to pass but let's say " sadly pass" lol.
  6. 1♠ If i am in good mood may open 4 but now i am tired
  7. [quote name='nige1' timestamp='1312948141' post='567297' IMO ♣Q = 10, ♣T = 9, ♣7 = 8, ♥A = 7, ♦Q = 6, ♠2 = 5. [/hv] The poster exceeded my expectations : i got 5 points for a spade lead hurraaaa!!
  8. ♣ 3 Kings 10 points, xx in ♣ with a vulnerable and perhaps balanced 1♥ opening !! And u don't wanna try to suggest a penalty? U want to work for 140 instead of 200? Wow what a bad defender u are...
  9. Now the 5clubs bidders can try to count the downs on that funny contract Of course the 4cl bidders would pass 4♠ and lose only 450 . Doubt if 2d is a sane bid but anyway as long as u bid 3cl, 3d or whatever on the level 3 u cannot stop 4♠ and u dont have guns for 5 If i were S i would bid over my own 4♦ lol. But at least the 4♦ bidder was the first person at the table who had any idea where to play the hand. :D Edit: Man! if u make 3♥ with this ***** ajxxx axxx vulnerable against not!! how many do u make with a sane 2h bidding?!
  10. I'm finally able to see this post with new eyes :P
  11. Bleah. Being very imaginative i may think to bid 5h(not 4)but that doesn't help me to play the slam when it is right. Experts may have methods for such offensive hands. I lose that board but u lose many many others.
  12. Cannot go passive. Any passive lead will give the contract (10♣ is not at all passive). Ok i want to lead spade because none doesn't like)).But the second choice is the su..club.
  13. I don't understand why we should take in calculus only that shape : 5 clubs to partner. Partner needs exactly one card: the k♥ to have an entry (not the queen). Responder may have 1-5-3-4 or 0-5-4-4 and i can see no more than 2 trics in diamonds (j10xx to partner is possible). Will be nice to lead your ten and to clear 4 trics in club. I wonder why the opener didn't start with 1NT. Balanced 5-3-3-2 15 hcps. Because of the weakness in spade? Ok i know! u can bid 2nt with 5-1-4-3 but that leaves partner with 5 hearts and then less clubs. I would credit W with good hearts (with at least K) for his 2h bidding (instead of 1NT). Is not against the odds to bid 2h w/o ak? Why not bid 1NT? Yea i'm a goof but i like to stay outside most.
  14. And what is your plan now, when your "not maniac" partner says he has spade control bidding 6♥ ? Ah! U are dummy. U will not suffering the offend to receive a spade lead to the ace and to get ruffed at the second tric (or Kx is not control?). Or u have any method (over 5♥) to get to 6NT?
  15. If u play against a person who passes a number of spades (and u are not advised :P ) then is natural to X at the 4 level and get "the bonus"))) And of course u tend to pass with 12 but get excited to bid them at the 4 level over 3 spades. TD should be called.
  16. nige1 says: IMO 5♣ = 10, 3♣ = 9, 3♦ = 8, 4♣ = 7. If partner is forgetful then 3♣ may be enough. That may even allow you to bid ♥ later. But, otherwise, 5♣ (cutting out 4[sP}) is a fair temporising move :) So u decide to suicide yourself in 5♣ when 4♥ makes and u can beat 4♠ if partner has let's say k♠ and on a ♦ lead u get 2 ♠ trics? wow!!
  17. I bid 4♦ (but i am known as overbider) :D Anyway is better than let opps to bid 4d or 3spades. What if LHO has an weak 6(7)-4 ♦-♠ and the opener has 5♠?
  18. Dint think too much but i suppose on club lead I need to clear diamonds and if i lose 2 ♦ they will back club again and again (even ruff-sluff) and ill have troubles with clearing the heart suit for 10 trics. Of course makes with 3-2 spades , with k♥ onside etc etc... I bid hearts because i was a monk :D
  19. Hm can i suggest that simple assumption : Having only Ax in ♥ and only 3 clubs u have not communications with your partner. Why do u think declarer will need more than one ♥ tric to make the contract? He takes his trics in minors (ducking a club) then his k♥ so now we count: 4♦+1♥+2♣ and then he plays 10♠ to you and waiting for the last 2 trics in spade. What else ? U need exactly K♥ to partner, i need only a J-x or 9-x or even j single in ♠ and some stopper in heart. :D
