  1. Poor bidding judgement by N, pure and simple. After the 2 heart bid, N has plenty of time,- he should show the spade support by bidding 2 spades. Now S will realize N's shortness in hearts (given the bids in clubs and diamonds), and bid 4 spades. Bidding should be viewed as a collaborative effort,- clearly N failed to realize this when he bid 2NT (looks like he wanted to be declarer).
  2. Why is BBO wasting time, money, and resources to their inferior robots ??? Please, if you don't enter computer tournamets, I suggest you give up on in-house development.
  3. AS far as the bidding phase goes, I agree completely. Too often have I seen the bidding UNDO abused, and used for "second" thoughts. (I suspect some users actually think that this is a valid use of UNDO). Delay is fine, but perhaps another possibility is to add a Confirm request at the point when the bid has been entered by the user. You could make this a table setting.
  4. People do rent the BBO robots regularly. There is no reason that they cannot do the same with JACK, if BBO draws up the right agreement with the owner of the software.
  5. Licensing JACK, and bringing it to BBO. Here is one idea: put in your convention card with JACK, and then have the ability to play with JACK as an expert partner (an avatar if you will) against other players who have their own avatar. You could set up tournaments using this concept: no more could you blame your partner.
