  1. There has been discussion about having BBO Team Tourneys for several years now and my understanding is that the programers, while thinking this would be a nice thing to have, are not devoting any development time as they don't think there is sufficient demand. IMO, there is a HUGE demand for Team Tourneys (perhaps swiss) that could be setup in similar fashion to the mini tourneys. You could join as a team or a pair and get paired with another pair that wants to play teams. There are numerous ways this could be setup. So, my request is to please offer support for Team Tourneys if you think this would be a worthwhile addition to BBO. Thanks. -CK
  2. While this suggstion has been made before, I think it's worth repeating. That is to have some directory where you could find an identify your friends and know when they log on. This might work by: - Those who want to be part of the BB directory can check a box on their name to be included - You can find (by real name) those that are registered and have them added so you can be notified when they log in. Comments, suggestions? -CK
  3. IMPs, Red vs White opp you opp partner ---- -------- ---- -------- P P 4♥ 5♠ P ?? ♠ xx ♥ Jxx ♦ KT9xx ♣ KTx
  4. In first seat you open 1♦ - I've changed the hand slightly. Does this change your bid on whether or not to make a support redouble? You opp pard opp ----- ----- ------ ----- 1♦ P 1♠ DBL ?? ♠ xxx ♥ Qx ♦ AQJxxxx ♣ K - If you play support doubles, are you required to redouble? - Do you play support doubles but can use judgement on when to use them?
  5. IMPS, WHITE VS RED In first seat you open 1♦ (may not be everyone's choice) and partner bids 1♠, double on your right to you: You opp pard opp ----- ----- ------ ----- 1♦ P 1♠ DBL ?? ♠ xxx ♥ Qx ♦ AQJxxxx ♣ J - If you play support doubles, are you required to redouble? - Do you play support doubles but can use judgement on when to use them?
  6. There were several 2005 "wish list enhancements" that I posed sometime ago. I've updated what's been done as an FYI. -CK ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you are invited to a team game, having the ability to tell (by color) whether your opps, partner or teammates are your friends, or enimies -----> Nothing done Ability to bring up a saved pre-alert (ie: Greetings opps, we play 2/1, ud/ca, multi) instead of having to type it each time. More beneficial when playing in tournaments. -----> New alert box created. Great 1st step Dramatic overhaul of the Teams invite system -----> Invite much easier in that you can easily add players by clicking on them. The ability to click on user's name and going to their table -----> DONE! The ability to cut and paste BBO chat -----> DONE! The ability to send a private message to multiple people at the same time -----> Nothing done. Is this being considered? Swiss team tournaments -----> Nothing so far. Is this something being considered and can be done? Obtain pair results (MP, IMP scores, etc.)when specing players in tournaments -----> Being considered and may be implemented in the future
  7. Here are some of my 2005 wish list for BBO enhancements/improvements. Many have already been suggested and I'm simply adding my voice to those. -CK When you are invited to a team game, having the ability to tell (by color) whether your opps, partner or teammates are your friends, or enimies Ability to bring up a saved pre-alert (ie: Greetings opps, we play 2/1, ud/ca, multi) instead of having to type it each time. More beneficial when playing in tournaments. Dramatic overhaul of the Teams invite system The ability to click on user's name and going to their table The ability to cut and paste BBO chat The ability to send a private message to multiple people at the same time Ability to bring up a saved alert to a bid Swiss team tournaments Ability to include defenses to conventions on the convention card for conventions that are not famialir to many players (ie: Multi)
  8. Currently when you are playing a tournament, either MPs or IMPs, you can see how you are doing after every round. If you are specing a particular pair you have no idea how they are scoring. Is it possible to be able to see the scores (MPs or IMPs) of those you are specing? -CK
  9. Is there anything in the works to have team game KOs or perhaps a team game swiss tournament? I would imagine this might entail some significant programming challenges but I thought I'd ask the question to see if this consideration might be in the offing down the road. Thanks. -CK
  10. Is there a way that I can enter more text in the convention card? The "other" category at the bottom of the card is limited to 100 characters which does not allow very much information to be listed. I would like to be able to include additional system information that will be available to opponents on various treatments as well as defense to multi and other not widly used conventions. Also, might there be some way to have "automatic alert text" and/or a way to have user defined text when you explain your system so you don't have to manually enter in the information each time you alert or inform your opps of the syetem you play? Just a thought. Thanks. -CK
  11. Nevermind. I logged off and then back on and it's there. -CK
  12. Am I missing something, but in the latest version, 3.8.4 is the ability to put your cursor over someone's name on their chat message and have their profile displayed has been eliminate. I thought this was a nice thing to have as when someone advertised for a game, you could simply put your cursor over their name on the chat message and get their profile. Is this an option that needs to be set, is this ability gone, or is there something I need to do so that I can have this profile disply back. Thanks. -CK
  13. I as do my partner use the LTC excensively in evaluating hands. There are adjustments that can be made to make it even more effective, although like any tool, it is not perfect. We have found it to be very effective in game evaluations, and not quite as effective in bidding slams. Our responses to major suit raises over 1M-2N are based on LTC. For example: 1♠ - 2N (4+s game forcing) 3♣ = 7 loser hand 3♦= 6 loser hand We have other more specific responses to show additional 5 card suits (which is more critical in slam bidding, as you need a source of tricks), shortness, more strength hands, etc. E-mail me and I can send you the various responses. -CK
  14. How abou setting it up so you can sort as you see fit? -CK
  15. When there is a delay in someone bidding or playing, it is not possible to know if the player is thinking (unless you ask) or whether the problem is with someone's IPS connection. Outside of the red dot that flickers when there are connection problems (what tirggers this? what does this tell us?) you cannot tell the ping times of the individual players. Is this something that can be added to the next version? Is the reason why it is not available due to the bandwith overhead this might consume? -CK
  16. Thanks for the information Fred, and I'm sure you'll continue to get others to post their ideas and suggestions. In order to set expectations on when improvements might be implemented, are we talking 3-6 months, 6 months - one year, more, less? I would hope this would be high on the priorty list as I enjoy team games as my preferred bridge activity. Don't worry, we will not come hunt you down and flog you in public if your estimate is off. :) -CK
  17. What about having more comparisons - 30+ vs. the 15 that are done now? -CK
  18. Perhaps it can be as simple as this: The existing invite screen is used with the ability to click on an individual and add them to a given seat (there will also be a remove button), and once they are added (or removed), a confirmation goes to that individual. When all seats are filled, the team game is started (by a start button that the team game organizer clicks). -CK
  19. Are there any plans to make the arranging of team games easier? Perhaps clicking on the names and putting them in the desginated table and direction. Any thoughts on how the arranging of Team Games can be made easier and faster? -CK
  20. That is correct Gerardo. If there was an "auto" option, you could just watch along as the cards were played (and DF analysis changed) vs having to manually click on DF after each trick. -CK
  21. Thanks for the information. The DF (option) might be usefull to see the way DF analyzes the changes as each card is played. When it first starts, there is only one solution (assuming perfect defense and declarer play) but depending upon the actual cards played, that solution could changes. A contract that has no play initially, may be able to make as a result of the play of the defenders. By " watching along" as each card is played you can see where the error occured.
  22. Has there been any consideration of adding audio commentary to Vugraph? -CK
  23. Here are a 2 suggestions. Do you think these are of benefit and would you like to seem them implemented? Thanks. -CK Have the ability to richt click on someone's name and have the option of joining their table directly. This way you don't have to go through all the screens to get to that table (where they may have already found a partner, pair, etc.) Or some other more efficient way (one click) to go to a table. Being able to use DF and have the ability (have this be an option) to have it automatically provide an "ongoing" analysis each time a card is played. Other wise you have to click on DF each time a card is played.
  24. As a suggestion, I'd like to see the contract displayed next to the person's declarer's name
  25. I suggest that you have the ability to join a table by right clicking on a person, then selecting the option to join that table. This will be an improvement to trying to find where that person is serving a table then joining them. -CK
