  1. I think bridge systems are not the same as a procedure to make a Coca Cola to keep them in secret. As Erik mentioned full disclosure in bridge is a law. I play many conventions ( BLK, multi or wilkosz, splinter, cue bids etc etc) and never paid for it. Now I became a little bit scary, maybe someone is going to charge me for useing these conventions (for 25 years it might be a lot B) ). For 5 years I've been playing Polish system NS. NS means "Nasz System" what is very easy to translate to english as "Our System". Who was "Our" ? Top Polish pair in 70/80 Krzysztof Martens - Tomasz Przybora. They for sure were working on this system many years but I hope they let me play it for free. They made some money on me because I brought these book about that system ( I didnt need to) and I think thats the right way to make a money. Keeping system in secret make no sense to me. Poles call someone like that " gardener's dog" because cant eat fruits by himself but doesnt let to eat anyone else :)
  2. Well, the question is "for whom TD makes a tourney ?". If TD makes tourney for players then he should be very patient. If TD makes tourney to be a boss then yes, anyone whom he doesnt like for some reason can be barred. This two points is extreme, and I think both of them are wrong. Just go for golden middle then TD has a fun and players dont complain to much.
  3. Uday said, Uday knows - its not possible to change the number of boards after tournament began. Another story is, is it ok to change it shortly before tourney starts ( some players may not notice that) ? But major thing in my opinion is "power trip". Did TD show that he is on "power trip" ? Maybe he was, but maybe we have more (much more important persons then TDs) on power trip on this server. Maybe its not a bad idea to think twice before we judge someone.
  4. [hv=n=sajt64ha87dq87ca3&w=s9532hk642dtct952&e=skh95daj964ckj864&s=sq87hqjt3dk532cq7]399|300|[/hv] Bidding: E S W N 1♦ Pass Pass X 2♣ 2♥ 3♣ Pass Pass 3NT Pass Pass Pass Does anyone would have any problem with alerting this hand ? For me that what happend in Abalucy Swiss/Calabres is very obvious. Dragan lost the board and was trying to win useing director, but unfortunatelly Calabres was not very useful . I egree with Luis in 100%, if I was hosting this tourney my decision would be exactly the same. In his next post Dragan says : "4) There are so mouch Polish players, furthemore excellent players, but whole world is little bit larger, and they must learn to alert exotic's from polish club." Anytime I log in to BBO during the daytime in Poland 10%-20% BBO users are Polish, so maybe its not a bad idea to learn about opening bids in Polish Club due most of them play this system. Its just 5 bids.... let say 2 (1!C and 1!D).... let say 1 (1!c)
  5. As I know its done already. When I blacklisted someone and he log in with other nickname he is still not able to play in my tourneys. He is able to play in my tourneys as sub and in my opinion its ok - lets give him another chanse. What I do when I see that someone whom I blacklisted playing in my tourney is just watching him. When he plays as sub in my 2 tourneys and I have no complaint about him I remove him from my black list. Anyway from time to time I clear my black list (when is my twin girls birthday for example :)
  6. Everyone who is willing to spend his own time hosting tournaments can do it and in my opinion its ok. I agree with Helene, if you wont to play in some tournaments then play if you dont then leave. But there is another side of that, many of BBO users dont know who is good TD and who is bad, how many tables can host one TD, what kind of decisions TD makes etc etc. Maybe is possible to make rank for BBO TDs. My idea is : create a software which will allow players to send feedback about TDs. Now, because of that that when TD makes any decision always one side is happy and one side is unhappy and unhappy side more often (in my opinion) will send the feedback, TD with lets say 50% positives feedback can be very good. But 50% positives feedback for many BBO users will not look to high, for many will look low, so I suggest to make TD's rank. To TD's rank will qualified TD who hosted more then 25 (or 50) tournaments and have more then 100 feedbacks (just positives or negatives, no long stories about what TD did or didn't). After some time we will know that bad TD has for example 25% good and 75% bad feedback, good TD opposite or so. Then we can make 3 or 4 degrees rank and place TD's rank on his profile, or on profile of tournament he created. I understand that this way we can loose some TDs but I would not missing them. Rank in my opinion will have more positives, like competition, TDs will try to improve these tourneys. I think we will have smaller number of TDs on power trip etc. Honestly, I don't know I'm good or bad TD, I'm not professional TD. Some people say I'm good and they like to play in my tournaments, some say I'm bad. I didn't count it so far. If I know how high I'm in TD's rank then I can work to improve my skills or I can quite its up to me. What do you folks think about that ?
  7. ♠ A543 ♥ Q10 ♦ AK432 ♣ Q8 ♠ QJ7 ♥ AKJ87 ♦ Q97 ♣ A7 What do you think about that bidding ? 1D - 2H (GF with 6H or good 5) 2S - 3D 3H - 3S (I dont bid 3nt pard so I dont have C stopper or I'm interested in slam) 4D - 4NT 5C - 6D or 6NT if 3H means Hx 7NT - if we have one black king and pard said 6NT because... (its simple B) ) I agree with The_Hog 2C is a magister, so if we are not sure just make it simply. SIMPLY BRIDGE - BETTER BRIDGE this is what saying one of the best polish trainers Ryszard Kielczewski.
  8. This hand doesnt look serious to me. If we have 17HCP, 4!S and 5!H why opps with 23HCP 9!S and 8!H didnt bid anything ???????????????? 3!C is forcing bid and 3!H seams to be the best rebid.
  9. Uday, can you send me all private chats my wife have had with other guys then me ? I'll apreciate that. peefco
