  1. Do you really mean that an 8 point raise will automatically accept any "non-descript" game try by opener? In that case 2NT must be GF, so is it a slam try or what? Maybe I am missing something in what you said.
  2. [hv=pc=n&n=s962hkt8dqj2ckt85&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1d2hp3c3d3s]133|200[/hv] your call
  3. I agree, cue bidding cheapest 1st or 2nd helps partner here. He will know if he has good trumps.
  4. I also would play 2S as limit raise + so I would play 3S as stopper asking but if I have already denied a stopper I would now bid 5D if partner has denied a heart control or 4C otherwise. Partner doesn't know my diamonds are this good.
  5. Too bad I didn't have the tools to bid with this hand. 4th best heart
  6. Too bad I didn't have the tools to bid with this hand. 4th best heart
  7. It looks like 2NT (g/b) would work well by N over 2H. Now S could bid 3H (must be a diamond fit) and N has a clear 3S bid. At least this would get u to 4S. Doesn't anyone play g/b anymore?
  8. 3D to play unless pd has very unusual michaels.
  9. I think the consensus is that 1S is natural and forcing for one round, and 2S is artificial and forcing to game.
  10. I see your point but how many experts even read the n/b forum? Just because a poster doesn't have 75 dots after his/her name does not mean he/she is a novice. It just means he/she doesn't spend all of his/her time posting to these forums. Whew! Got that off my chest.
  11. I agree with your response but disagree with your suggestion to post to a different forum. I wanted expert opinions.
  12. K KT9x Qx AK9xxx Rate the rebids after 1C (P) 1S (P): 2C 2H 3C Regardless of this particular hand, should a 3C rebid deny 4 hearts?
  13. I play new suit NF but constructive which I believe is the majority approach, but every time I bid 1S here my partner has a singleton or void in spades, a reasobable+ 6 bagger in hearts and a good hand. I will take my chances passing and hope something good will happen (if it already hasn't). I will pull to 1S if 1H gets doubled and left in.
  14. I think that's exactly the same thing I said, but longer.
  15. It sounds like all of the opponents' club cards will be in dummy and he may have a singleton in his hand. If he has alternative plays for the contract, he will be very reluctant to take a finesse at trick one in a grand.
  16. I really like redouble but unfortunately it is illegal :)
  17. Now we find that Jacobs' book is based on someone else's notes on Fantunes' system...Where can I buy it???
  18. Here is a comment by Fulvio Fantoni: Risposta di Fulvio Fantoni Dear Giovanni, I'd like to precise that the book you quote hasn't been written by Claudio or me, but by a third person. This person watched our play and tried to deduce our system and was able to reconstruct many bidding sequences exactly, but not all of them. In the case in point, the bidding sequence you report is not correct. For us 2NT in that bidding sequence means 14+, 5+ e 4+ hand. Anyway, you should know that this is going to change very soon, because we want to introduce transfers at 2 level, too. Best regards :) Fulvio
  19. I guess that means you agree with ahydra's post. My position is that if you aren't able to make an intelligent comment then don't make any comment.
  20. It is not clear to me why someone would want to buy a book about a system designed by a winning pair but written by a person who does not know the system. Did Fantunes decide to completely describe their system to Bill Jacobs but to no one else? I don't think so, I will wait for the Fantunes edition.
  21. I guess I was looking for a slightly more intelligent answer, but thanks.
  22. What are the continuations by opener after 2C/2X/dbl/P when playing that the dbl shows a double negative? How does opener handle a balanced hand with various holdings in the overcalled suit?
  23. 1♣ (1♥) DBL (Pass) ? Differentiate between 1♠, 2♠, 3♠, 4♠ This is for my partner's benefit, thanks.
