Recently someone here started a thread the subject of which is how when one clicks in the chat box preparing to write something a list of recent phrases used pops up. I and the original poster find that annoying. There were suggestions and apparently some people got positive results when they cleared their browser's cache. I have tried to do this several times (I use OPERA as my primary browser) but the annoying prompts continue. Does anyone have the solution to this? Larry (bbo user: dr4sight)

When I joined BBO a few years ago the original format allowed one to click on the game type column which would sort it quickly. Since I prefer IMPs I could scroll down to the tables where that was being played while others who like to play TOTAL POINTS or MATCH POINTS could easily find their type of game. I don't see why that sorting option had to go when the format changed. I think it would also be nice to be able to sort or filter in order to find tables that need exactly one player. I find it frustrating to find a compatible partner and then have to sit 5 or more minutes waiting for the table to fill up.

I agree with this. I strongly prefer to play with people who play SAYC in a way similar to what I do (and also prefer to play with people who rate themselves intermediate or advanced). Anything that can be done to quickly and smoothly make it easier to find compatible partners would be most appreciated. And since most of us do not want to join a table that still needs one or two more players to get started it would be nice if the table view columns were sortable or have filters where one option is to just show tables that already have three players.

So if I want to use the same convention card with different partners I put their BBO names in the partner box. Do I separate the names with a comma, space, colon, or something else?

Before BBO went to the new Flash version the Description column in the table view was sortable. I found that handy because I prefer to play in IMPs games rather than in Total Points or Match Points. I would be very happy to have that column made sortable in this newer version. The pandemic has obviously increased the membership at BBO by a tremendous amount. On balance that's probably a good thing. But it seems to me that almost none of the new players have taken the time to fill in a profile at all. I think it would be helpful all around if BBO sends a message to all members who have nothing at all in their profile about how they play. The message should request that basics be filled in: SAYC or Acol or 2/1. 5-card majors, 1NT range etc. If all members had at least that much filled in finding a compatible partner would be much easier IMHO.

Bear with me since I have never asked a question in this forum before. Have been at BBO for a few years and love it. I always wondered when I move from one table to another why I don't end up seeing the same hand that I saw at a prior table. There's probably an obvious answer that I am missing but would be curious about that. TIA Larry

I'm just a few weeks into using BBO. Been away from bridge for about 20 years but enjoying it here. When I am looking at the tables I notice that some players have a number (usually from 1 to 5) after their names. What does that signify? Also today I noticed that some players had the names listed on a red background. What does that mean? Thanks for your help.
