I use R of 22 and R of 21+ when I have spades, LTC might be a tie breaker. A few of my partners use LTC. It is amusing to me when they pass R of 22 hands and I open hands that don't pass LTC muster but are R of 21+ or 22. NO accountin' for personal taste, I says.

1D-2C (GF, 5+C)2D (required if 5+D)-2H (4cd H)3H (4cdH, stronger than 4H)-4C (slam try denies S control) This is all Mike Lawrence's stuff; the key is the 3H call: Even if your p'ship allows opening on Jx Jxxx AKQxx xx, this is not going to be opener's hand. For my p'ships, 4S after 4C would be KB showing a S control. You should now be able to stop in 5H if there is no QH and no AS.

Now this is odd. I'd been having the same problem for a year, and recently the process worked.

Interesting. So what's wrong with providing a large number of allowed characters so that folks can utilize all of it and trim if they run over? or am I missing something about the natrue of fixed character length fields?

I don't understand why the entirety of fields made available for bid descriptions can not be utilized--I get half way across the field and the software stops accepting text. Is there a workaround?
