Today's progressive left is much like yesterday's Catholic Church. Once each has taken a position on an issue, discussion has ended and dissent is no longer tolerated. There's a huge doctor shortage looming. Medical school is expensive. Few new doctors want or can afford to become PCPs. Why do healthy people need yearly physicals? Why does one need to see the PCP, then get a blood test, and see the PCP again? Wouldn't it be more efficient and less expensive to get the blood test before seeing the doctor?

In order to play bridge higher up than the club level, one virtually must be among the economic elite. Why do all of you disdain the working class? There nothing sacred about having all members on Medicaid getting free health services. The uninsured really has no access to medical care other then the ER. In San Francisco there is healthy San Francisco. Members pay according to their means. Hospitals and doctors who accept medicaid would accept the uninsured who are members of medicaid. Althou there should be tiered medicaid. Urban areas should be allowed to charge more. Then more hospitals and doctors would be willing to accept medicaid members. I'm suggesting a new form of medicaid which currently does not exist.

The individual insurance market is a ripoff. They should be allowed to be uninsured. Also medicaid should allow these people to join. Only they are required to pay for the services they use.

Give me a break. You live in San Jose. Many Asian families are extremely poor and the parents can't speak English. Yet Asians do well in school. The problem the left will not admit is unmarried teen high school drop-outs don't make good parents.
