Gotta say, and would tell partner this in the post-mortem, that the only thing that double can be is for penalty. Three passes - then 4H? What kind of takeout can begin at the 4S/5minor level with three passed hands, so around 20 HCP?? And if they make 4SX, he shot it, he can eat it.

Yes, around Thursday, I saw a big difference, primarily in how competitive E/W was becoming. I just finished a Bingo match where East had, by a good bit, the strongest hand - I thought S. always had strongest hand? The thing I really liked about Bingo was, by playing fast, (not necessarily well :)) one could see a lot of hands and often manage to guide North into the contracts needed. It was fun. Now, I find most of my time is spent competing with E/W, who, when they win the contract, seem to be programmed to "stall" and "burn clock." Not so much fun. Anyway, love the site - having a great time, for the most part, and trying to learn all these new bidding systems. Well, new to me, anyway. Thanks!

I'm sure that's right. I just logged in here to say I've had a blast playing the Bingo. I started a few days ago, and have managed to place in nearly every one I join, so I think I've got the hang of it. What I like about it is "cheating" the system to get a needed score. But that Robot on the other side of the table can be infuriating at times. Have to remember "it" can't understand I only need THREE spades, LOL. This is a really neat online Bridge community, and I'm thankful it's here. Now, I just need to up my game to get competitive and play in some REAL tourneys! Edit: well, I wonder if someone reads these posts! Today, it seemed the algorithm was set much more aggressive toward the E/W hands competing. The game seemed harder. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything! :)
