I usually don't rant much about the robots' bidding, but one area that really needs to be addressed is their bidding after takout doubles. They do not seem to recognize that the takeout doubler can have a strong one-suited hand. Today, the auction proceeded [hv=pc=n&s=s5hakq975dak97cat&n=skjh62dt842cj8532&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1dd2s3c3s4hp5c]266|200[/hv] First, the hand really isn't worth a 3♣ call on such a ratty suit, but on the auction, it has a clear pass of 4♥. The other weakness in takeout double auctions (and in general) is that it doesn't downgrade poorly placed honors in the opponents' suits and it upgrades shortness in suits in which partner is known to be short.
